A blood donation camp was organised with a good cause to serve the society by Jodhpur Institute of Engineering & Technology
Jodhpur Institute of Engineering & Technology organized a blood donation camp on September 25, 2016 at College campus. This camp witnessed an ample number of students and teachers participating in this philanthropic act. The event was graced with the presence of Er. Navneet Agarwal (Director General), Dr. Rajendra Karwa (Campus Director), Prof. O.P. Vyas (Dean).
Every year our nation requires about 4 crore units of blood, out of which only a meagre 40 Lakh units of blood are available. Blood donation is a safe process. Without prior medical check-ups no one was allowed to donate blood. Every blood donor was given a mini-physical, checking the donor's temperature, blood pressure, pulse and haemoglobin to ensure it is safe for the donor to give blood.
There is a constant need for regular blood supply because blood can be stored for only a limited time before use. Regular blood donations by a sufficient number of healthy people are needed to ensure that safe blood will be available whenever and wherever it is needed.
Blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give to another person — the gift of life. A decision to donate your blood can save a life or even several if your blood is separated into its components — red cells, platelets and plasma — which can be used individually for patients with specific conditions.
