JIM Indore organizes Summer Internships Programme

The placement cell at Jaipuria Institute of Management takes the credit to host summer internships on regular basis to hone the skills of its students.

Summer internships are an important career stepping stone, which will enhance the credentials of students. It not only offers an important opportunity to work closely with professionals but also help to develop knowledge, competencies and experience related to student’s career goals.
 
To help the student to gain a good insight into how the industry works already, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore has organized the session for SIP Presentations of students of batch 2015-17.
 
 
 
 
The session kick started with a warm welcome of various industrial experts including
 
  • Mr. Mohd Sarfaraz Ahmad, Business Development Manager of Pensia Media Solutions Private Limited
  • Mr. Vishal Nagar, Regional Business Head of emerging Corporate Group
  • Mr. Vicky Kukreja, Business Credit Analyst, IndusInd Bank
  • Mr. Shakti Bodh, National Product Manager, Dainik Bhaskar
  • Mr. P Chandrashekar, Senior Manager Agility Logistics
  • Ms. Nupur Singh, Human Resource Manager at Kirloskar Dewas
  • Mr. Akhilesh Dubey, Human Resource Manager in Reliance Jio
  • Mr. Pramod Saraf, Managing Director of Sultan Finance
  • Mr. James Pal, Human Resource Manager of Dabang Duniya
The session was coordinated by Dr. Charu Dubey, Mr. Abhishek Singh, Ms. Prabha Tiwari, Dr. Pooja Khushwaha and Ms. Tanu Sharma.
 
The session was carried forward by the students who presented their SIP reports and gave the presentation within the time limit of 7 min followed by 3 min of questions and answers.  Most of the students got a chance to work in top most companies like UAS International, ITC, ICICI Bank Ltd, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Private Limited, Dena Bank and startups like Capital First, Curious18 and so on.
 
 
 
 
Each student shared their project title along with the learning experience and the challenges, they faced as an intern in a company. The marketing profile students learned the confectionery segment of an FMCG firm, the various price slabs of the company and the distribution channel to enhance sales. It also helped them to understand the mindset of different customers of different regions, and building customer relationships were the core learnings from SIP. The finance students got a chance to understand loan life cycle, loan sanction procedure, banking schemes and analysis of various ratios. Quick problem solver, analytical skills, exceptional leadership, an ease with technology and adaptable communication was the main wisdom imbibed. The budding human resource managers gained skills of time management and the ability to complete tasks efficiently so that both employee and employer needs are met. SIP made them understand that the trust in company’s employees and executives need to be earned by the human resource manager so that they can effectively do their job. Honesty and discretion are key components of any successful human resource manager.
 
 
 
After the completion of the presentations, the industrial guests were asked to share their experience of SIP presentations. They appreciated the presentations done in a systematic manner and advised students to decide their goals as per their skills or develop skills for their targeted companies. The students were advised to serve the companies with their creative ideas and outstanding contributions. 
 
The session concluded with a token of appreciation to all the guests for giving their valuable time and knowledge.
