JMIU Announces Dates for International Conference on social work education

Jamia Millia Islamia University has unveiled the date of upcoming conference on social work education and practice.

The Department of Social Work (UGC Centre of Advanced Study) and Faculty of Social Sciences, Jamia Millia Islamia University will jointly organise an international  conference between February 20 and 22, 2016.
 
The conference proposes to review the situation, learning and issues around Social Work Education and Practice in India and abroad over the last 50 years. 
 
Some of the issues that the conference wishes to focus on are:
 
  • Relevance and Efficacy of Social Work Education
  • Changing Scope of Social Work Profession
  • Challenges before the Profession
  • Knowledge in Social Work, Trans-disciplinary nature and resistance to new Knowledge
  • Evidence-based Practice 
 
The conference will turn around the major themes like:
 
  • Scope of Social Work Profession
  • Methods of Social Work and Practice Areas
  • Pedagogical Issues/Curricular Aspects
  • Core Competencies
  • Fieldwork in Social Work Education
