Karnataka PGCET MBA Counselling

Karnataka PGCET MBA Counselling – KEA has announced the schedule of Karnataka PGCET MBA 2017 counselling. The document verifications process will start from August 30 and will be continued until September 7.Candidates must carry the required documents at the KPGCET MBA helpline centres. Otherwise, they will not be considered as eligible for the admission. Documents will be verified at 15 helpline centres located across Karnataka. Option entry will be held in two rounds. The first round will start from September 5 and will be continued until 18 September. The second round will commence from September 22. On the basis of their ranks and document verification process, candidates will be allotted the seats. Physically disabled candidates will have to appear for medical examination and ex-defence category candidates will be required to submit the ex-defence certificate on August 23.

Candidates who have cleared the test can attend seat selection process. Counselling of KPGCET MBA includes several stages such as Document verification, seat allotment. The entrance examination marks will be considered only for eligible candidates. Candidates are advised to attend the counselling procedure only if they clear all the eligibility criteria. Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in Karnataka PGCET MBA exam. Based on the scores and choice of courses, seats will be allotted to the candidates. KPGCET MBA exam was conducted on July 2, 2017. Answer keys of the exam were already out and the result of Karnataka PGCET MBA 2017 was declared on August 19.

Karnataka PGCET MBA Counselling 2017: Key Points

  • Candidates have to be personally present in the Helpline Centre as per the above schedule for document verification. Verification will not be done after the scheduled date.
  • The candidate must bring all necessary original documents (along with one set of attested photocopies).
  • If any candidate fails to produce any of the original documents on the day of verification, they will not be verified and will not complete their registration process and subsequently will not be considered for eligibility to exercise their options.
  • The candidates who select a seat in the first round and wish to cancel the selected seat should surrender the seat on or before the last date fixed for entry of options in the second and final round, i.e., before 10.00 a.m. on 25-09-2017.
  • If a candidate decides to surrender his / her seat, he/she have to surrender the seat only to KEA. Merely not reporting to the selected college should not be presumed by the candidate that he/she has surrendered the seat to KEA, i.e., before 10.00 a.m. on 25-09-2017.

Registration is the first stage of KPGCET MBA counselling. Qualified candidates will have to register themselves for the counselling process. They can register at the nearest helpline centres. Karnataka PGCET MBA Counselling 2017: Verification of Documents

Candidates who will register successfully will have to get their documents verified at the helpline centres. Documents verification is done to confirm the eligibility of the candidate.

  • Carry your original documents as well as one set of attested photocopy
  • Carry two passport size photographs
  • After the complete verification procedure, the candidate will receive a verification slip and acknowledgement card.
  • The candidate should confirm the rank ranges, date and time of verification before coming to the Helpline Centre.
  • Candidates have to be personally present in the Helpline Centre at the time of verification.

After verification, the original documents will be returned to the candidate and KEA will keep one set of the attested photocopies of all the documents. Candidates must carry the following documents to the helpline centre for the verification:

  • Karnataka PGCET MBA Admit Card
  • 10th class mark sheet
  • 12th class mark sheet
  • Study certification
  • Qualifying exam score card
  • Graduation certificate
  • Caste certificate

Karnataka PGCET MBA Counselling 2017: Option Entry

After the completion of document verification process, candidates will be asked to select the course and college as per their choice. The candidates who will become eligible after verification only be considered for entry of options.

  • The candidate can enter all the options in the discipline to which he/she is eligible.
  • There is no limit for entry of options.
  • The candidate will have to enter the priority number in front of the displayed college/course to which they are eligible and interested.
  • The candidate may change the options as many times as he/she wishes before the last date and time notified.
  • After entry of options, the candidate has to select the button to submit and log out.

Karnataka PGCET MBA Counselling 2017: Seat Allotment

Based on the merit and options entered by the candidates, seats will be allotted to the candidates. The seat allotment process of KPGCET MBA 2017 will be conducted in two rounds and each round will consist of three phases and each phase consists of a number of iterations. Availability of seats will depend on the seat matrix issued by the government.

  • If the candidates will not be satisfied with the seat allotted to them in the first round, they can participate in the second round.
  • In the second round, the vacant seats will be given to the candidates as Casual Vacancies.
  • The reservation criteria will also be considered during for allotment of seats.


If the reserved category candidates will be allotted with a General Merit then a reserved category seat becomes vacant. Such seats are treated as ‘CONSEQUENTIAL VACANCIES’. These consequential reserved category vacancies that arise during the 2nd phase of allotment will remain under the same categories and will be offered only to the candidates belonging to the same reserved categories.


  •  If the candidates score same marks in the Karnataka PGCET MBA 2017 exam, highest aggregate marks will be given priority.
  • Age factor will also matter in this situation. Candidate with higher aggregate and higher age will be given preference.
