Kathak dance-concert 'PARAMPARA' series by Mahagami Gurukul Campus, Aurangabad, Maharashtra
MAHAGAMI GURUKUL had entered the 20th year of its existence on this Guru-Poornima July 31, 2015. Needless to say, in the past 2 decades, the organization has grown from strength to strength and this was only possible because of the undying faith and support of all our Rasikas, well-wishers, devoted students and enlightened art-lovers.
The varied activities at MAHAGAMI are aimed at promoting the Cultural Heritage of India in general and Aurangabad in particular. MAHAGAMI is one of the premier arts organizations in India and has pioneered in preservation, promotion and training of Indian art forms. Ranging from training imparted in Time-honoured Guru-shishya parampara to more than 2000 students; to presenting a variety of programs like seminars, baithaks, festivals to Heritage-series on Aurangabad named “Aura-Aurangabad”; to promoting the talent and traditions of this region in the rest of the world and making the Indian cultural tradition global; MAHAGAMI has contributed immensely towards the Indian Culture and in making Aurangabad city a “CULTURALLY VIBRANT CITY”.
The journey along the 20th year started with an involved dance-offering at the Gurukul by our disciples on Guru Poornima and a 2-day festival on August29, 2015 and August 30, 2015. MAHAGAMI team has been travelling for performances, workshops and lectures under the leadership of Guru Parwati Dutta.
Taking the journey back with the local Rasikas, they present a Kathak dance-concert under our 'PARAMPARA' series that seeks to showcase the spirit of Indian Dance Heritage and the stylistic expressions within Kathak tradition. The students are cordially invited to attend this program on October 10, 2015, 7 pm at MAHAGAMI and thus get a deeper insight into the world of Kathak. The program will be followed by Question- Answer session with the audience.
To make the Arts-movement stronger, you can also join the annual “KALA-SNEHI”” membership so that you will be able to witness many festivals and concerts throughout the year.
