KCET 2018- The Karnataka Common Entrance Test 2018 is organized by the exam conducting authority of Karnataka to provide admissions to various undergraduate programmes in engineering across the state. It offers courses in various fields like Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy & Yoga, Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Farm Science courses in Government / University / Private Aided / Private Un-Aided Professional Educational Institutions. However, the eligibility criteria for each stream/course of study may differ from each other. It is a state level exam conducted in offline mode or Pen and Paper based test. KCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of Karnataka CET 2018 define the norms and requirements that are prescribed by the university. It is necessary for each and every candidate to fulfill the eligibility criteria before filling up the application form. Otherwise, candidates will not be allowed to sit for the exam. The eligibility criterion for each course varies so that candidates must check the eligibility requirements of KCET 2018 here.

  • General category candidates need to have obtained minimum 45% aggregate scores in class 10+2.
  • For Reserved Category aspirants i.e. SC, ST Category I and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), they have to secure minimum 40% marks.
  • Applicants should have passed 10+2 level qualifying examination with Mathematics and Physics as main subjects and English as the language subject.
  • Aspirants must have studied Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Chemistry/ Biology as an elective subject in class XII.
  • Candidates who wish to take admission in the architecture courses will have to appear either in the JEE Paper 2 or in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) which is conducted by the Council of Architecture. 

KCET 2018 Application Form

Right after checking the eligibility criteria, the candidates can further move on to fill up the application form of KCET 2018. The application form is likely to be made available online in January 2018. The candidates will be able to submit the form after entering details and uploading documents asked followed by the payment of application fee.

Procedure to Fill KCET 2018 Application Form

  • Click on the link provided here to register online for KCET 2018. (The link will be provided here when the registration form filling will begin).
  • Choose a password to login.
  • Enter personal details such as contact number, Date of Birth, a valid email ID and parent’s details.
  • Upload scanned copy of recent photograph, signature and left thumb impression as per the specifications cited by the exam conducting authority.
  • Submit the application fee either through Indian Bank, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Mysore or e-post office.
  • Submit Karnataka CET application form and take a printout copy of the same.

KCET 2018 Admit Card

The hall ticket/Admit Card of KCET 2018 will be released by the exam conducting body in online mode and it is likely to be made available in the first week of April 2018 for its aspirants. The details of the candidates such as name, roll number or application number, photograph, signature, exam date, time, venue and guidelines will be mentioned in the KCET 2018 Admit Card.  It is mandatory for each candidate to bring their Admit Card along to the exam centre as it is the most crucial document needed to sit for the exam. Failing to do so will lead to the cancellation of the application made by the candidate.

KCET 2018 Exam Centres

The candidates should choose cities as their venues for the exam from the list provided by the exam conducting authority. The candidates will be given names of cities in which the exam will be conducted. They can choose the exam centres as per their preferences from the list. The Horanadu, Gadinadu and Kannadiga category candidates will be given Bangalore as their exam Centre for KCET 2018. Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2018 will be organized at 53 locations in Karnataka.

KCET 2018 Result

The result of KCET will be announced online by the exam conducting authority tentatively in the fourth week of May 2018. The scorecard along with the merit rank will be released with the same. The candidates will be given admission on the basis of their mark list. After commencing the results, the eligible candidates will be called for the counselling process.   • Check the scores and rank obtained in the exam and download the result.
  • Take a printout of KCET 2018 result for forthcoming procedures of admission.

KCET 2018 Cut Off

Cut off KCET 2018 will be the minimum marks required for admission in its participating institutes. The cut off will be decided after considering various factors like previous year’s cut off, no of students passed, no of seats in each course of study, highest score obtained in the exam, difficulty level of the exam and so on. Hence, the closing rank will be announced accordingly and varies from streams to streams.

KCET 2018 Counselling

The counselling process will be held in both online and offline mode for the eligible candidates who have secured high scores fulfilling the cut off prescribed by the exam conducting authority. The admission to various streams will be given after considering the no of seats available, score, merit list, rank, and other aspects as well. The verification of the documents will also be done during the counselling process.
