Innovation project of Keshav Mahavidyalaya
A group of B. Tech students from Electronics and Computer Science Department at Keshav Mahavidyalaya have undertaken an innovation project to design a filter to reduce Sox and Nox emissions from automobiles.
On noticing reduced air quality now-a-days and with famous odd even formula by Delhi Government and increasing deaths due to poisonous air, motivated them to initiate a project on this and try to enhance air quality.
The team have been working on this project for last 4-5 months and have carried out various experiments to reduce the contents of toxic Sox and Nox levels of exhaust from cars, buses and trucks.
It has reached to a success level, that going forward they will be able to find a method to reduce Sox emissions and have succeeded in its filter design. They have also experiment this by using on a diesel car.
It showed a remarkable decrease in smoke unit (% HSU) from the exhaust of a car using this filter and also verified it at pollution checking centre. In the future, the team will commercialise this filter and thus, helping in enhance the quality of lives of the people.
