MAHAGAMI’s Aura-Aurangabad Dance concert continues to conquer people’s heart

Aura-Aurangabad is a series of dance concert to promote the cultural richness of Aurangabad!

 
 
 
 
 
 
To make Aurangabad city culturally rich and popular among the tourist; to promote cultural tourism, MAHAGAMI (Mahatma Gandhi Mission Sangeet Academy), the famous Gurukul had launched the dance series Aura-Aurangabad in the year 2013. Recently, MAHAGAMI conducted the 22nd, 23rd and 24th series of Aura-Aurangabad. The fervent work did by the profound artists of MAHAGAMI is worth mentioning.

Day 1: December 24th:

 
The 22nd concert of Aura-Aurangabad was gracefully conducted on December 24, 2015.
 

Dance forms:

  • Bharatanatyam dance presented by Kalavardhini Charitable Trust, Pune was greatly appreciated by the audience.
  • The Artists presented, Pushpanjali,"Bhuvobharaavatarakam" Krishna, who shows the way to cross the ocean of worldly life. 
  • Pushpanjali, was followed by Krishna kautukam .the choreography of Krishna Kautukam emphasized his all encompassing aspect of the Lordness.
  • They also performed Padam, the melodious Purandardasa Padam bringing out the Sagun-Nirgun aspect of his being.
 
The performance concluded Geetopadesham, it  depicts the marvelous episode of 'Krishna Arjun Samvaad from the Geeta, accentuating the JagadGuru aspect of Krishna.
 

Day 2: December 25th:

 
The dance Gurukul MAHAGAMI presents the 23rd concert of Aura-Aurangabad on December 25, 2015. Audience were highly mesmerised by the Odissi dance performed by MAHAGAMI, Aurangabad.
 

Various dance forms:

 
  • The artist presented Mangalacharan- an invocation piece.
  • Mangalacharan was followed by Dashavatara- Jayadeva Kavi, a 12th century saint poet’s celebrated work the Geeta Govinda praise the ten incarnations of Lord Vishu in the piece Dashavatara.
  • They also presented Pallavi. A Pallavi begins with slow lyrical movements of the eyes, hands, torso and feet, and slowly builds up tempo reach a crescendo.
 

Day 3: December 26:

 
The 24th concert was concluded with eye-catching dances performances where the artists Anand Satchidanandan & Jayalakshmi, Aurangabad performed Bharatanatyam followed by Ganesa Vandanam, Nrttaswaravali and Padam.
 
MAHAGAMI will come up with its next concert of Aura-Aurangabad on December 31, 2015.
