Management Dept. of IIT Delhi Registers 100% Placement

Around 36 companies participated in the recruitment drive for a batch of 46 students. Management Department witnessed nearly 28% increase in highest salary offered.

The Department of Management Studies (DMS) of IIT Delhi has registered a 100% placement for the class of 2015-17 with the highest package offered increasing by nearly 28 percent. MBA admissions for the new academic year will begin from April 6.

Around 36 companies participated in the recruitment drive for a batch of 46 students and the average package offered was 16.21 LPA. The highest package stood at 27.07 LPA as against 21 LPA last year, according to a statement released by DMS.

Top companies that made a maiden entry for recruitments included  Reckitt Benckiser, Google, Pernord Ricard, Louis Dreyfus, GSK, Crisil, Bosch, Mazars, Total Oil and Gas, Brillio, Concentrix, Essel Group, Futures First.  Other prestigious companies that participated were  GE, Amazon, Dell, National Instruments, IBM, HP, Bank of America, Deloitte India, Virtusa, Wipro, Axis Bank, Indiamart and  Lava. A highlight of  this time was the presence of PSUs like Hindustan Petroleum and Indian Oil Corporation.

Prof. M. P. Gupta, H.O.D said that the DMS had always produced some of the best managers of the country and the trend continued this year also. “A strong focus on the all-round development of an individual, with industry connect and research at its core has been the main propeller of success for the students of the institution. Being a part of the IIT system, the students have always enjoyed a close connect with the latest developments in the industry which has helped them in staying ahead of the curve,” he said.

Maintaining that the collaborative environment offered by IIT Delhi helped the students to implement a number of ideas on the ground, he said that this had translated into an exemplary placement season across domains this year.  

Dr. Sanjay Dhir, Faculty Placement Coordinator said that the robustness of the department was evident in the packages and profiles offered at the campus.

Recruitments were open across diverse profiles in the domains of finance, sales and marketing, operations, general management, consulting, IT and analytics. Business Analyst, Management Trainee, Program Manager, Consultant, Sales Consultant, Business Intelligence Senior Analyst, Marketing Officer among others, were few of the most sought after and desired profiles offered to the students.
