Following into the footsteps of other universities in India like Delhi University, Mangalore University has now joined the bandwagon of conducting its admissions online. So every step, right from filling of forms to the announcement of final list of candidates will be online. Students can also view and choose colleges of their choice, whether affiliate, constituent and autonomous colleges of Mangalore University and apply online.

After the university ratifies the admission and data is sent to the examination section, hall tickets are generated uploading marks secured in examinations with help of OMR sheets and generating marks list. The only manual part is the time when the registrar (evaluation) affixes a facsimile signature on the marks list and it's dispatched to colleges for distribution to students.
While addressing the third general meeting of the academic council, Vice-chancellor TC Shivashankara Murthy added that the next logical step is to have internal assessment marks of students online.
