MAT 2016

MAT 2016 or Management Aptitude Test is a national level standardized test that enables B-Schools or Management Institutes across India and abroad to screen students for MBA and other related courses. Starting in 1998, MAT has grown on to become the largest competitive exam for management courses offered by more than 600 institutes in India. MAT is conducted in the month of February, May, September and December every year.

All India Management Association or AIMA is the apex body that conducts MAT exam in India. Right from the registration of candidates to the declaration of results, AIMA has the authority to issue any notification on MAT. MATscore card issued by AIMA stands valid for a year in most Management Institutes.

The MAT 2016 for December is scheduled to be held on December 11, 2016 in paper-based mode and December 17, 2016 onwards in computer-based mode. Candidates can choose to appear for either computer-based test, which is conducted in different time slots or for paper-based test. Applicants will be judged on their Language Comprehension, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, Mathematical Skills, India & Global Environment and Data Analysis & Sufficiency.

MAT 2016 Application Forms:

The registration process for MAT 2016 for December and the sale of application forms has begun from October 6, 2016. Interested candidates can register themselves online for MAT. They will have to upload their digital photograph, digital image of their signature and pay the application fee online to complete their registration process.

The registration process along with sale of application forms will conclude on November 26, 2016 with the last date to submit the filled-in application  form is November 29, 2016. Students can check their application form status on the official website of AIMA.

MAT 2016 Application Fee:

The application fee for MAT 2016 exam is anticipated to be 1200 INR. Interested candidates can pay the application fee online through Net Banking, Debit/ Credit Card or through Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of AIMA. The DD number should be mentioned in the specified area to complete the application procedure. 

MAT 2016 Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates interested in appearing for MAT 2016 in December should hold a graduation degree in any discipline from any recognized university. However, they will also have to check the eligibility criteria of different institutes and universities individually. The list of participating institutes in MAT will be available on AIMA’s official website. Candidates in their final year of graduation can also appear for MAT exam provisionally but should complete their graduation this year itself.

MAT 2016 Important Dates:

MAT 2016 for the month of December is set to be held on December 11, 2016 in paper-based mode and December 17, 2016 in online test. In case less number students register themselves for computer-based exam, the test will be completed in a single day i.e. December, 17, 2016.

MAT 2016 Exam Pattern:

In order to clear MAT 2016 for December, applicants will have to answer 200 multiple choice questions of 1 mark each in 150 minutes. The exam can be given in either offline on paper or online on computer.The question paper will be divided into five different sections namely Language Comprehension, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, Data Analysis & Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills and India & Global Environment. Each section will consist of 40 questions providing candidates with four answer choices to choose from. One-fourth marks will be deducted for every wrong answer a candidate gives.

MAT 2016 Syllabus:

The syllabus for MAT 2016 scheduled to be held in December will consist of questions that will test the Language Comprehension skills of the candidate and so questions can be based on Grammar, Unseen Passage, Vocabulary and Spotting Errors, etc. Questions testing Mathematical skills may include Profit/ Loss, Percentage, Number System, Height & Distance, etc. There will also be questions testing the Intelligence & Critical Reasoning of the candidate including Sitting Arrangements, Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning, etc.  Questions testing Data Analysis & Sufficiency can include Puzzles, Series, Line charts, Pie Charts, etc. MAT exam question paper will also include India & Global Environment questions that will test the candidate’s General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Recent Events, etc.

MAT 2016 Admit Cards:

Candidates appearing for MAT 2016 in December will be able to download their admit cards from the official web portal of AIMA on or after November 26, 2016. The admit cards will contain details like Applicant’s name, Roll No., Form No., Test Date, Test Time and Test Venue. No candidate will be allowed to enter the venue without their admit card.

MAT 2016 Results:

The date for result announcement for MAT 2016 December has not been announced. However, candidates can expect the MAT result to be announced in the fourth week of December 2016 as it is usually announced after 2 weeks from the date of the test.  Candidates can check their results by logging on to AIMA’s official website and entering their roll number and application form number.

MAT 2016 Counselling:

The counselling schedule for MAT 2016 will be announced after the results are declared. Candidates will have to confirm their MAT ranking first followed by the date and time slot of counselling. Candidate should decide beforehand the college and course they would like to get admission in as they will have to notify the same to the concerned authorities on the day of counselling. Counselling procedure will get completed after the candidates get the required documents verified by the authorities on the day of the counselling.
 

MAT 2016 Tips & Tricks:

Applicants of MAT 2016 need to follow few simple tips and tricks to clear MAT exam with ease. Fundamental basics of different subjects should be cleared for which school textbooks should be preferred. Practice solving sample question papers everyday to get familiar with questions. Candidates should focus on improving their grammar and vocabulary skills by reading books and should also try to increase their reading speed. They should also stay updated with current affairs and brush up their general knowledge. Mapping time while solving the sample MAT test papers will help increase their overall speed.
