MAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

MAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria All India Management Association sets the eligibility criteria for MAT exam. The candidates who have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline and are interested in pursuing post graduation in management can take Management Aptitude Test 2018. According the MAT 2018 eligibility norms, students in final year of graduation can also apply for this exam. No particular passing percentage in Bachelors has been defined in the MAT exam eligibility criteria but it is preferred that candidates must have at least 50% aggregate marks in graduation as it widens the opportunities of admission. It is important for the MAT aspirants to meet the eligibility criteria and register for the exam only after ensuring the same. Candidates not fulfilling the MAT eligibility criteria 2018 can get disqualified at later stages of admission. Also, it must be noted that the eligibility criteria and admission norms may vary for MAT participating institutes. The candidates are suggested to go through the official website and admission brochures of the colleges carefully, where they desire to seek admission. 

Management Aptitude Test is one of the most sought-after competitive examinations in India for securing admission to business schools in India and abroad. It is conducted every year in February, May, September and December. It is a national level examination for students seeking an admission to MBA (Master of Business Administration), PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) and related courses. Paper based MAT May 2018 is scheduled to be held on 6 May and computer based exam will be conducted on 20 May 2018.

MAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria 

According to AIMA, following are the eligibility norms for MAT exam 2018:

  • Candidate should be a graduate or equivalent in any discipline from any recognized university
  • Candidates in their final year of graduate courses in any discipline can appear for the exam provisionally
  • There is no age limit to appear for MAT 2018
  • There is no limitation on the number of attempts for MAT exam
  • Work experience is not mandatory
  • Many universities or institutions have minimum percentage criteria. Therefore, candidates can check the details about the same on official web pages of such institutions/universities

The candidates who suffice the eligibility criteria for MAT 2018 as mentioned, may register themselves for MAT examination during the scheduled time. MAT 2018 registration can be done in online mode only. The candidates can visit the official website of AIMA-MAT or can access the link given on this page to apply for the test. Since MAT is conducted in online and offline mode, the candidates have the choice of either appearing for one mode of exam or both the modes. The application fee to register for one mode is INR 1550 and for both modes, it is INR 2650. This fee can be paid through available onlline payment gateways using Net banking/Credit or Debit card.

For MAT PBT, the exam timings are fixed, 10 to 12.30 pm but the CBT MAT exam is conducted at different time slots. The timings and details of the allotted MAT exam centre are all mentioned on the admit card of the exam. For both the exam modes, specific admit cards are generated. On 28 April 2018, the hall ticket for MAT May PBT exam will be released. This will be followed by release of MAT CBT May admit cards on 12 May 2018.  

MAT exam will have 200 multiple choice questions, which will be asked from 5 sections which means each section will comprise of 40 questions. The difficulty level of questions asked in the MAT exam equals the level of a graduate. This exam aims at assessing the basic aptitude and ability to think logically of the exam takers. The experts and MAT toppers suggest taking more and more mock tests to prepare well for the exam. 

The MAT exam results are generally announced in the same month in which it is conducted. The result of MAT May 2018 is expected to be announced by last week of May. The result will be available in the form of score card on the official website, For checking the result and downloading MAT 2018 score card, the candidates will have to enter their roll number and form number on the result login page. Additionally, they will have to choose the month from the drop down menu there. Based on MAT results, candidates can take admission in over 200 Management Institutes.
