MICAT 2018 - MICA Admission Test (MICAT) is a national level entrance test which is conducted for the admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Management Communication i.e. PGDM-C. MICA, Ahmedabad is the conducting body of this exam which offers 180 seats under this programme. MICAT 2018 (I) conducted on 17 December, 2017 and now MICAT II is scheduled to be held on 17 February, 2018. Candidates interested in taking admission at MICA must ensure that they have CAT 2017, XAT 2018 or GMAT score. The best of the two scores will be taken into consideration by MICA for shortlisting the candidates for further admission rounds. MICAT 2018 will be a computer-based test. It will contain 140 multiple choice questions and descriptive questions distributed in three sections. Duration of the exam will be two hours and 45 minutes.

The application procedure of MICAT II concluded on February 5 and the admit card for all the registered candidates released on February 10. MICAT 2018 II call letter is available on the MICA official website, www.mica.ac.in. for the candidates to download. However, a link to access the MICAT exam hall ticket has been given here below too. Candidates will have to login to their student account using their login ID and password to view and print the call letter. It is important for the test takers to carry a copy of admit card with them to the test centre on the exam day for seeking entry into it and sit for the exam. Details such as address of allotted exam centre, exam time and reporting time etc. is all mentioned on the admit card of MICAT 2018 exam.

MICAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates interesting in appearing for this exam must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria of MICAT 2018, which is as follows –

  • The applicant must be a graduate.
  • There is no age restriction. 
  • Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • Final year graduation students are eligible to apply, provided they fulfil the necessary conditions.
  • The applicant must have appeared for any one of the three management entrance exams – CAT 2017, XAT 2018 or GMAT.

MICAT 2018 Application Form

MICAT MBA exam is conducted twice in a year. The candidates can appear for one or both the exams. The registration for MICAT II 2018 application process started from 3 January and closed on 5 February 2018. The candidates who have appeared for CAT/ XAT/ GMAT and aspire to appear for exam must fill the application within the prescribed timeline and accurately. Here are some of the things that must be kept in mind while filling the MICAT exam application form –

  • The MICAT 2018 application form must be filled online. However, the candidates can pay the application fee (Rs. 1965/- for all categories) for MICAT 2018 online or offline.
  • In the form, the candidates will have to fill details such as personal, academic, choice of exam centre, contact details etc.
  • Also, the candidates will have to enter their score in any one of the three management entrance exams – CAT/ XAT/ GMAT
  • A recent coloured passport sized photo must be uploaded while filling the application form

MICAT 2018 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of MICAT 2018 is on similar lines as that of last year. As per the exam pattern, it will be a computer based test of two hours and forty-five minutes (2:45 hrs) duration carrying approximately 120-145 descriptive as well as objective type questions.The following table reflects the MICAT 2018 exam pattern along with a total number of questions:

MICAT 2018 Syllabus 

The syllabus of MICAT comprises of variety of topics. It will analyse the candidates on analytical & verbal ability, logical reasoning, general knowledge and writing skills etc. The exam will have questions from 6 sections, the MICAT 2018 syllabus of which is as follows:

MICAT 2018 Admit Card 

MICAT 2018 admit card for phase II of examination released on 10 February 2018. Only candidates, who submitted the application form before the due date can download the admit card from their respective MICAT login. It is only available online and will not be sent to the candidates via post or any other medium. To access the admit card, the candidates will have to enter their login ID and password. MICAT hall ticket is an important document that will act as identity proof for the exam takers and will provide details of the allotted test centre along with details of candidate and exam.

MICAT 2018 Result 

The MICAT 2018 result for phase 1 has been announced. Now, the result of phase 2 of exam wil be declared on February 26, 2018. It will be available online on the official website of MICA Institute. For checking the result, the candidates will have to enter their login id and password. The Institute will take into consideration the best of the two MICAT scores and based on the performance of the candidates, they will further be shortlisted for Group Exercise and Personal Interview. 

MICAT 2018 Selection Procedure 

The MICA selection process comprises of GE-PI shortlisting, merit list generation and final admission. It is important for the candidates to qualify the Psychometric test and also clear the decided cutoff in order to be considered for shortlisting. The final result will be prepared on the basis of MICAT 2018 score, GE/PI score and the CAT/XAT/GMAT score.

The selection process of MICA broadly comprises of five stages, which are as follow -

  • Having score of CAT 2017/XAT 2018/GMAT score
  • Appearing for MICAT I or II or both
  • Shortlisting candidates for GE/PI
  • Preparing merit list
  • Final result announcement furnishing list of candidates who will getting PGDM-C admission
