MRIU Hosts ‘Voice of Manav Rachna’

‘Voice of Manao Rachna’ was hosted to uncover the singing talent in the campus of Manav Rachna.

‘Voice of Manav Rachna’, a mega solo singing competition was conducted on April 20 and 21, 2016 by the Department of Students Welfare, MRIU and was a grand success. The mains and prelims and mains of the completion witnessed a cheerful participation of 70+ students from various faculties across the campus out of which 25 were selected for the Mains round, based on mastery of lyrics , stage presence , timing , pronunciation , pitch and voice texture.
Personalities who judged the preliminary round include Mr. Nakshatra Pandey (Coordinator, Students Welfare) whereas the Mains were judged by Ms. Chandna Kapoor (Head, Music Department, MRIS). Prof. I.K. Kilam (Dean Students Welfare, MRIU).
The event was a blend of ghazals, bollywood, retro, western and patriotic songs. Audience boosted the morals of each contestant with loud cheers. The icing on the cake for the event was a touching performance by Mr. Nakshatra Pandey, judge of the day post prelims. Also a special wild card challenge was proposed by him, wherein, the participants had to perform ‘The Breathless Song’ and the best performer would win a direct entry to the final round.
The Stars of the Day:
  • Vaani, 1st year BDS student, MRDC was entitled as ‘Voice of Manav Rachna’
  • Adhiraj Mathur (2nd year, B.Tech CSE, FET) 
  • Leena Pande (2nd year CSE, MRU) as second runner up
  • Shivmurti (1st year, B.Ed) and R. Kritika Kaveri (1st year CSE, FET) won the consolation prize
With the distribution of certificates, the two-day event came to an end, left behind memories of entertainment, fun and a great learning experience.
