National Workshop-cum-Orientation Programme: A joint initiative by ICSSR-ERC & St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata scheduled on September 26 & 27, 2015
St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, in association with ICSSR-ERC scheduled a National Workshop-cum-Orientation Programme on September 26 and 27, 2015 for Researchers/Faculty Members from Scheduled Caste/Schedule Tribes and Marginalized Groups. The Induction focuses on the categorization of caste and tribe and to make an attempt for social flexibility.
The Workshop-cum-Orientation programme aims to see social mobility primarily through accessing to education and turn towards occupations other than the ‘traditional’ occupations practiced by the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The Orientation also aspires to focus the issues that defy the contemporary higher educational applicants and resulting in the welfare of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe and other marginalized people.
About the College:
St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata is a Christian Minority Higher Educational Institution, which was founded by a Catholic Minority Religious body. St. Xavier’s is affiliated to University of Calcutta and offers UG PG courses under five Faculties namely, Arts, Science, Commerce, Business Administration and Education. The medium of instructions followed by the respective College is English.
