NDTV's Workshop on ‘Writing for Television’ at MRIU

MRIU workshop
A workshop was conducted by the Faculty of Media Studies and Humanities, Manav Rachna International University, under the series of workshops being conducted for the students of BJMC and MJMC, wherein stalwarts of NDTV News Channel describe and share their experiences and techniques. The subject of this week's workshop was ‘Writing for Television’.
Mr. Sanjay Ahirwal, Managing Editor along with Ms. Shweta Rajpal Kohli, Anchor and Business Editor, NDTV 24X7 were the eminent speakers of the workshop. The workshop was highly informative, interactive and had enriching sessions wherein nuances of reporting and writing for TV were explained.
The following aspects were discussed during the workshop:
  • Mastering the Dictionary of Television
  • Different approaches of writing in English and Hindi
  • Writing news reports and headlines
  • Art of doing Piece to Camera
  • Reporting techniques for TV
