NEET PG 2013 Online Counseling to begin from 20th February

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) PG online counseling is likely to commence from Wednesday, February 20, 2013, the Union Health Ministry has announced.

The counseling will be carried out for admissions to the PG (Post Graduate) Medical and Dental programmes in government colleges across the country.

The tentative date for NEET PG online counseling has been declared as the Supreme Court has not reached a final verdict on whether or not private and state varsities can hold separate entrance test.

According to officials from the Ministry, NEET PG 2013 results will be announced soon after the declaration of the verdict.

The officials say the tentative date has been declared for the convenience of students and to help them avoid last minute hassle. What’s more, scheduled timetable has also been uploaded on the Ministry’s official website.

If SC’s final verdict goes in favour of NEET, the ministry has, as of now proposed counseling for those who qualify for about 6000 government seats in medical colleges.

The officials say basis the outcome for this order, steps for counseling the students of private colleges will also take place.

Around 20,000 seats are available across all 350 medical colleges in the country.

NBE (National Board of Examinations), New Delhi conducted NEET PG 2013 in November 2012.
