The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for postgraduate programmes (NEET PG) was conducted from December 5 to 13, 2016. All the important information regarding the examination is available here.
NEET PG 2017 or the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is organised by the National Board of Examination (NBE) each year. Aspirants who take the test can seek admissions in MD, MS and PG Diploma courses offered by various medical colleges in India. The course duration will be three years for MD and MS programmes and two years for Diploma courses.

The NEET PG 2017 exam will be conducted at various centres across the country from December 5 to December 13, 2016. The following table shows all the important dates for NEET PG 2017.

NEET PG 2017 Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible to appear for NEET PG 2017, a candidate must fulfil the eligibility criteria. He/she must be a citizen of India and hold an MBBS degree from a recognised university.
All the candidates should provide their educational certificates at the time of admissions. The admission procedure shall not be carried out without the documents.

NEET PG 2017 Application Process:
The NEET PG 2017 application forms can be filled online at the official NBE website. The application forms will be available from September 26, 2016, and can be filled until October 31, 2016.
NEET PG 2017 aspirants have to pay an exam fee at the end of the application process. A candidate belonging to the general category will have to pay INR 3750. A candidate who is in the reserved category will have to pay INR 2750. The fee can be paid via debit, credit card or net banking.
Before submitting the application, the candidate must check all the information entered. Incomplete applications or applications with wrong information shall not be accepted and the candidate may further be debarred to write the examination.

NEET PG 2017 Exam Pattern:
NEET PG 2017 is a computer-based examination. The total duration of the exam will be 3 hours. The question paper will consist of 240 objective type questions and each candidate will get questions based on the courses s/he has opted for. No marks will be deducted for incorrect answers.

NEET PG 2017 Syllabus:
The NEET PG 2017 syllabus shall cover subjects and knowledge areas as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulations allotted by the Medical Council of India (MCI) with an advance approval from the Government of India. The subjects covered in the NEET PG 2017 examination are as follows and the syllabus will be covered according to these subjects:
Anaesthesiology, Biochemistry, Anatomy, Dermatology and STD, ENT, General Medicine, General Surgery, Microbiology, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Pathology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Physiology, Radiology, Psychiatry, SPM, Statistics and Biomedical Research.

NEET PG 2017 Admit Card:
Once the registration process is over on October 31, 2016, candidates shall be eligible to download the NEET PG 2017 admit card from the official website. A copy of the admit card will be sent to the registered email ID of the candidate.
Once the candidate has taken a printout of the hall ticket, they need to paste latest passport size photograph on it. S/he must bring the admit card and a valid photo ID proof to the exam centre. Those without the NEET admit card won’t be allowed to take the exam.

NEET PG 2017 Result:
The NEET PG Result 2017 has been announced on January 13, 2017. Candidates can view and download the score card from the official website of NBE (www.neetpg.nbe.gov.in).
The minimum qualifying marks a candidate has to obtain in NEET PG 2017 is as follows:
50% marks in the case of general category candidates
45% marks in the case of physically handicapped candidates
40% marks in the case of reserved category candidates
Once the result is announced, the merit list will be released and candidates will be invited for counselling as per the marks obtained in NEET PG 2017.
