NEET 2018 Result – The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET as it is popularly known is a one-stop examination for all undergraduate medical aspirants wishing to seek admission to MBBS and BDS courses offered by a plethora of medical and dental colleges across the country. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is the conducting body for NEET every year.

As soon as CBSE will announce NEET 2018 Result on its official website, candidates will be able to check the NEET exam results by entering the relevant details. After entering the required details, the NEET result will be displayed on the screen and the candidates will be able to download the score card containing the candidate's marks and the All India Rank. This will give a clear picture to the candidates as to which college they can seek admission in. The NEET Result is expected to be released somewhere in the month of June 2018.

Once the NEET 2018 Result will be declared, candidates who have secured the minimum qualifying percentile will be able to sit for the counselling of NEET 2018 exam. The counselling will be conducted soon after the NEET result is announced, tentatively in the month of June 2018.

NEET 2018 Result - How to Download Score Card

CBSE will release the NEET 2018 Result on the official website from where the candidates will be able to download the scorecard. Mentioned below are a few simple steps in which you can check the NEET result online.

  • Log on to the official website of CBSE NEET.
  • Click on NEET Result.
  • On the redirected page, enter your roll number and password.
  • Click on ‘Submit’.
  • On submission of valid details, the NEET 2018 result will be displayed on your screen.
  • Download this displayed NEET 2018 scorecard and take a print-out of the same for the future reference.

After the NEET 2018 Result is out, the candidates will be able to download the NEET scorecard from the official website of CBSE NEET. The scorecard will consist of the following details:

NEET 2018 Result Announcement

The NEET 2018 Result will be declared for the following categories:

  • 85% state quota seats for MBBS and BDS admissions in all states and UTs of India
  • 15% All India Quota seats in Government medical and dental colleges in all states and UTs of India
  • MBBS and BDS seats in Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)
  • MBBS and BDS seats in all private and deemed medical colleges across the country including minority institutions such as CMC Vellore and CMC Ludhiana

Candidates who have secured the minimum qualifying percentile will be declared qualified. To check and get the NEET Result, candidates will have to enter the relevant details on the website marked with an asterisk. The details required may include Roll number and a password. The validity of NEET 2018 result will be for a specific period only.

NEET 2018 Result and Qualifying Percentile

In order to qualify for the NEET exam, candidates will have to secure the minimum qualifying percentile. Candidates belonging to the General category will have to obtain a minimum of 50 percentile marks in NEET 2018 Result. Those belonging to the reserved categories (Scheduled Caste - SC, Scheduled Tribe - ST and Other Backward Classes - OBC) will have to secure a minimum of 40 percentile marks. Candidates belonging to the Physically Handicapped (PH) category will have to acquire a minimum of 45 percentile marks in NEET 2018. The percentile score will be based on the higher marks obtained in the All India common NEET merit list.

NEET 2018 Result and Merit List

The NEET merit list is prepared as per the candidate’s performance in the NEET exam and score obtained in the NEET Result. Candidates will get admission in colleges as per their position in the merit list. The rank list will be published via online mode.

NEET 2018 Result - Tie-Breaking Criteria

In order to prepare the NEET 2018 result and merit list, the authority uses the tie-breaking method. In case candidates score equal marks in the NEET exam, the rank in such case would be determined using the tie-breaking method. The tie-breaking criterion is mentioned below:

  • Students obtaining higher marks in Biology subject in NEET 2018 exam will be given preference
  • Students securing higher marks in Chemistry subject in NEET 2018 exam will be given preference
  • Candidates with less number of wrong question attempts in all subjects of NEET exam will be given preference
  • If the tie still remains, students older in age will be considered

NEET 2018 Counselling

Candidates who clear the cut-off marks and secure a place in the merit list will be called for the NEET Counselling. The NEET Counselling will be conducted in the month of June/July 2018, after the NEET 2018 Result is announced. The counselling process will be conducted through online mode. Counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats (MBBS/BDS) will be regulated by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). During the NEET counselling process, candidates will have to choose their preferences of medical and dental colleges for admission. The counselling for other 85% state quota seats will be organised by the respective counselling authority.
