NITs Cutoff

NITs Cutoff for B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering 2017- Among the many branches of engineering, electronics & communications is becoming more and more relevant today. Our increasing reliance on electronic components and advanced communications systems has fuelled a demand for experts who can design and build the same. Whether it is creating interfaces and systems for large corporations and government institutions or focusing on consumer requirements, there are enormous job opportunities for skilled individuals. People looking to specialise in this discipline can do so by applying for seats in any of the IITs and NITs. They will need to meet the NITs Cutoff for B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering after which they can choose a specialization and obtain a master’s degree in it.

JEE Main 2016 Cutoff for B. Tech Electronics & communication Engineering

The cutoff for JEE Main has been decreasing over the past three years. Whereas it was 115 (general) in 2014, it dropped to 105 in 2015 and 100 in 2016. The 2016 cutoff for ST candidates is 48 and 52 for SC candidates. OBC-NCL candidates have a cutoff of 70 for the year 2016.

It is believed that the drop in cutoff for JEE Main 2016 is due to the rise in the number of candidates appearing for JEE Advanced. The number of top candidates selected for JEE Advanced from JEE Main 2016 touched 2 lakh, which was an increase of 50,000. However, just 1.5 lakh toppers from JEE Main 2015 were selected to appear for JEE Advanced 2015.

Specialisations in B. Tech Electronics & communication Engineering

Specialisations in subjects are offered only at the master’s level. Once students meet the NITs Cutoff for B. Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering, they can go on to complete their bachelor’s degrees. If they choose to go for further studies, they can choose from several programmes like nanotechnology, bioinformatics, VLSI design, optoelectronics, cyber security, software engineering, robotics, telecommunication, and signal processing. Different NITs offer different specialisations so students would do well to check the options available.

Higher studies can open up more avenues for employment which is why you may want to consider taking things further by doing a master’s and even a doctoral in the chosen field. Aside from M. Tech, students also have the option of pursuing an MBA, MS Information Technology, Master of Design, and diploma courses at the postgraduate level.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria

There are certain requirements you must meet before being able to apply for JEE Main 2018 and meeting the NITs Cutoff for B. Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering:

• Students need to have completed their class 12 with minimum 75% marks for gen/OBC and 65% for SC/ST or be in the top 20 percentile in class 12 with language, physics, and mathematics as compulsory subjects. Chemistry, biology, biotechnology or other technical vocational subjects should be taken as optional subjects. Students who have not yet completed their class 12 should be appearing for their qualifying final exams in 2017.

• Applicants need to have Aadhaar Cards and those who do not can apply for the same at Aadhaar Card enrolment centres. However, applicants from Meghalaya, Assam and J&K can use other valid government ID numbers if they choose these states as their city of examination.

Important Skill Sets for B. Tech Electronics &Communicationn Engineering

Electronics and communications engineers are in high demand. Once you make the NITs Cutoff for B. Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering, the next step is to score a high percentile in your bachelor’s final exams. There are also other skills an electronics and communications engineer must possess. Practical knowledge of electronic components such as designing, building and repairing is necessary and can give candidates an edge over others that have only theoretical knowledge. Since this discipline requires hands-on work, possessing sound knowledge of related components and systems offers a much wider scope of employment in top companies and institutions.

Job Opportunities after B. Tech Electronics & communication Engineering

Once students have qualified for the NITs Cutoff for B. Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering and have completed their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the same, they can apply for jobs in several sectors. These include but are not limited to consumer electronics manufacturing, healthcare equipment manufacturing, internet technologies, power electronics, telecommunication and IT, and mobile communications. There is ample scope for employee and industry growth as well as wide salary range, making it one of the top fields of study for aspiring engineers.

Top companies and institutions, such as DRDO, Bharat Electronics Ltd, Infosys, Wipro, HCL Technologies, Philips Electronics, Samsung, Tech Mahindra, ISRO, and internet service providers like BSNL and MTNL, and the armed forces, regularly recruit skilled engineers. The pay package for electronics and communication engineers varies between employers.

Electronics and communication engineering is a field that is constantly evolving. Advances in technology require engineers to be updated on new digital electronics, systems, and processes. It is, therefore, imperative that aspiring electronics and communication engineers hone their knowledge to stay ahead of the competition and enjoy growth.
