Graphic Era University, Dehradun notified about the Promotion Criteria for First Semester Students of Batch 2015

Promotion Criteria

Graphic Era University, Dehradun notified all its First Semester Students who took admission in first semester of academic session started in 2015 for eligibility criteria for promotion to next year in various courses, special back paper and attendance.

For a degree to be awarded the student must possess at least 4.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale and clear all the credits required in the degree programme and also other conditions should have been fulfilled as per regulations and ordinances. The minimum grade to be acquired by the student to pass a course/subject should be Grade ‘D’. In case the student remains absent for the examination even if he/she is eligible, the student will be treated as failed and marked Grade ‘F’.

Eligibility Criteria for promotion to next year:

Promotion from odd semester to even semester

Students attending the classes may  be promoted from odd semester to even semester automatically

Promotion from 1st year to 2nd year

Should have passed in at least 25% or more of the courses/subjects allotted in 1st year

Promotion from 2nd year to 3rd year

Should obtain grade ‘D’ or higher grade in all courses upto 2nd semester and minimum 50% of all courses of 3rd semester

Promotion from 3rd year to 4th year

Should obtain grade ‘D’ or higher grade in all courses upto 3rd semester and minimum 50% of all courses of 4th semester

Promotion from 4th year to 5th year (For five year degree programme)

Should possess grade ‘D’ or more in al courses upto 5th semester and at least 50 % marks of all courses of 6th semester

 

Promotion from 1st year to 2nd year (For two years PG programme)

Should have obtained grade ‘D’ or higher grade in 50% of all courses for first year

 

Students should have at least 75% attendance to be eligible to appear in the examination. Relaxation upto 60% attendance will be allowed by Competent Authority under very special cases.
