More than 167 units of blood were collected from Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai which would go to Red Cross Society’s Blood Bank!
NSS unit of Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai conducted a blood donation camp on August 13, 2015 in collaboration with an NGO, Paropkar and Red Cross Society.
The inauguration was done by Dr. Prajakta Pachgade. On this occasion Dr. Annasaheb Khemnar, Principal of the college congratulated the NSS team and appreciated Shri Shankarji Kejriwal of Paropkar and Red Cross society for their constant support in organizing this event of nobility. He also appreciated the initiative taken by the students and expressed his support for upcoming social cause events in the institution.
He also focussed that even though blood donation necessity is fulfilled through such blood donation camp, but there is a further need to create awareness among the Gen Y’s for active participation in such a noble cause .
The dedicated team of professors also addressed the gathering through their inspiring words and were actively guiding the students in organizing this event. The entire NSS team participated with great passion and zeal and sensitized students about significance of blood donation.
More than 167 units of blood were collected which would go to Red Cross Society’s Blood Bank.
Along with student’s, even students from different colleges and residents from nearby vicinity, people from corporate sector, banks etc. also actively participated in this event by donating blood. Refreshments were given to donors and we could see a sense of pride and happiness in their faces. Professors and students expressed their gratitude to all donors for being an exemplary symbol of the society.
Student leader Alpa Chasia, Nikhil Sansas, and even ex-NSS representative Aman Goharia, Himanshu, Sumaiya along with their entire team put in lot of efforts to create awareness about this blood donation camp and make this social event a grand success.
At the end principal expressed his best wishes for this noble initiative.
