NTPC Recruitment through GATE 2017 - The National Thermal Power Corporation, which is now known as NTPC Limited is an Indian Public Sector Undertaking, which handles the business of electricity generation and other allied activities. NTPC was incorporated in the year 1975 and is headquartered in New Delhi. The core business of NTPC is the generation and sale of electricity to power distribution companies that are state-owned and State Electricity Boards in India.

Executive Trainee (Electrical) –

Candidates applying for this vacancy need to hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology/ B.Sc in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Power Systems & High Voltage Engineering, Power Electronics Engineering, or Power Engineering with a minimum of 65% aggregate marks or equivalent from a recognised university.

Executive Trainee (Mechanical) –

Candidates applying for this vacancy need to hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, Production Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or Mechanical & Automation Engineering with a minimum of 65% aggregate marks or equivalent from a recognised university.

Executive Trainee (Civil) –

Candidates applying for this vacancy need to hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/B.Sc in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering with a minimum 60% aggregate marks or equivalent from a recognised university.

Executive Trainee (Electronics) –

Candidates applying for this vacancy need to hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/B.Sc in Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics & Power Engineering, Power Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering with a minimum of 65% aggregate marks or equivalent from a recognised university.

Executive Trainee (Instrumentation) –

Candidates applying for this vacancy need to hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/B.Sc in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering or Instrumentation & Control Engineering with a minimum of 65% aggregate marks or equivalent from a recognised university.

Age Limit for NTPC Recruitment through GATE 2017:

The upper age limit is 27 years as on the last date of online application (January 31, 2017). The age relaxation is as follows:

  • 5 years SC/ST
  • 3 years for OBC
  • 10 years for PwD-General
  • 13 years for PwD-OBC
  • 15 years for PwD-SC/ST

Valid GATE Score for NTPC Recruitment through GATE 2017:

The score of the candidates in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2017 will be a determining factor in the selection. The graduate engineers who are interested in taking up a career in NHPC need to appear for GATE 2017 in the relevant disciplines.

On the basis of the GATE score, candidates will then be qualified for the next selection rounds consisting of a group discussion and a personal interview to assess a candidates’ understanding of different facets, skills and attitude. Candidates have to first successfully pass the GATE-2017 examination and after that the GD and PI to make it to the selection. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of GATE score, GD and PI scores, and will as per each discipline.

Application Process for NTPC recruitment through GATE 2017:

  • Candidates can apply for the vacancies in NTPC on the basis of the registration number printed on the GATE 2017 Admit Card
  • The candidates will have to pay the application fee before registering online. A scanned copy of the pay slip with the candidate's signature and the bank stamp must be ready for uploading during the filling up of the form. The SC, ST and PWD category candidates are exempted from paying the fees
  • Candidates must upload a latest coloured photograph with the file size lesser than 500 KB and in the JPG form
  • Once the registration process is over, a unique ID registration number will be generated
  • Candidates must take a printout of the registration slip for future reference

Application Fees for NTPC Recruitment through GATE 2017:

  • For General category candidates: INR 150 + INR 25 (Bank Charges)
  • For OBC: INR 150 + INR 25 (Bank Charges)
  • For SC/ST/PWD/Women Candidates: No Fee

Salary Structure for NTPC recruitment through GATE 2017:

NTPC Limited offers one of the best pay packages in the industry. Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of INR 24,900- INR 50,500 at the basic pay of INR 24,900/- during one-year training. These candidates will be absorbed after successful completion of training as Assistant Manager in the pay scale of INR 24,900- INR 50,500 at a basic pay of INR 25,650/-.

Besides basic pay, candidates will also be paid Dearness Allowance and will also be entitled to other perquisites & allowances under cafeteria approach. Benefits such as leave, medical treatment, Provident Fund, Gratuity, etc. will be admissible as per company rules in force from time to time during training and/or after absorption.
