The exceptional placements at MDI prove the faith shown in its pedagogy, faculty, alumni and students by the giants of the industry.
MDI Gurgaon, one of the pioneer business schools in the country, finishes its final placement for the 2014-2016 batch. And it merely took three and a half days. Out of the 333 students who appeared for the placements, 106 students received pre-placement offers, either from their summer internship organizations or through various B-school competitions, hence, proving their mettle through high quality work. There was a tremendous response from companies varying over different functions such as Finance, Strategy, Sales and Marketing, Operations as well as Information Management.
The batch had a diverse mix of students from various backgrounds such as arts, commerce, science, psychology, journalism, and medicine. There was a good 70:30 ratio of male and female students this year. The class also saw a mix of students with substantial work experience as well as fresh graduates. Many students had a prior work experience across various fields, with Manufacturing, IT/ITES, BFSI, and Consulting being the most prominent ones.
With the total batch strength of 333, the students were spread across three courses, PGPM, PGP-HRM and PGP-IM. There was a 35% increase in the number of recruiters and the average CTC increased by 13%. The highest CTC was a soaring 32.1 lakhs per annum. Sales and marketing sector made the highest percentage of recruitments by hiring 36% students. General Management & Strategy and Finance sector hired 25% and 23% of the students respectively.
