The School of Legal Studies, in collaboration with Rotract Club of Apeejay Stya University celebrated “National Law day and Constitution Day” on Thursday, 26 November, 2015 . The day also witnessed the investiture ceremony of the Rotaract Club of Apeejay Stya University.
The other highlighting events were the Blood donation camp, Debate Competition, Poster-making competition and a surprise event which was the marathon cum race.
The day started off with the inauguration of the Blood Donation camp held in the seminar hall, followed by a short talk and preamble reading by Mridu Chawla, a student of School of Legal Studies, and a silent session to witness the remembrance of the lives which the country lost on the infamous day in Mumbai, around 7 years back. Then, Rishabh Furtado, the President of Rotract Club of ASU and a student of School of Journalism and Mass Communication shared his thoughts, views and the vision as a Rotaractor. Following his speech, The Vice Chancellor, Dr. Pankaj Gupta gave a talk regarding the club’s progress, as well as the importance of Constitution day.
The surprise event, the marathon cum race took place on the university ground, where students had to cover a perimeter of 1 Kilometer. On the parallel side, debate competition was held where Mahadevan B Iyer, 4th year student of School of Biosciences bagged the first position, followed by Siddharth Sudhakar, 3rd year student of School of Engineering from Computer Science department who stood second and Mahima Sethi, 1st year student from the School of Design grabbing the third spot. The event was concluded by Dr. Mamta Sharma, Deputy Registrar (Academics) and Associate Professor delivering the vote of thanks.
