Satyawati College to Conduct Janak Kapoor Memorial All India Debate

Satyawati College, DU will conduct a national level debate competition on January 21, 2016.

Janak Kapoor Memorial All India Debate
Abhivyakti, the Debating Society of Satyawati College, University of Delhi, will organise the ‘Janak Kapoor Memorial All India Debate’ on January 21, 2016.
Participants will have to debate on the topic ‘Rising Intolerance in India is a Myth’. There are exciting cash prizes up for grabs and the winning team will be awarded the running Janak Kapoor Memorial Trophy.

Event details are given as below:

  • Date: January 21, 2016
  • Topic of debate: ‘Rising Intolerance in India is a Myth’
  • Venue: Satyawati College
  • Language: English, Hindi and Urdu


Participants need to adhere to the below given rules:
  • Time limit 3 minutes + 1 minute
  • Undergraduate and postgraduate students from any college/university can participate
  • One debater of a team will speak for the motion and another against it
  • Each team must bring an authority letter from its college/university department/university
  • A participant can speak in one of the three languages: English, Hindi and Urdu
  • Reading from the paper is prohibited and may lead to disqualification of the candidate
  • The college/university department/university winning the trophy will be responsible for its safe custody and timely return


Participants can register for the debate competition on January 21 at 9.30 am onwards. Spot registrations are also accepted.
