SCET Conducts Workshop on ‘Machine Learning and its Applications’

Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology organized an intensive workshop on ‘Machine Learning and its Applications’ on January 22, 2016. The workshop was organized by the department of Information Technology, under the banner of IEEE SCET Student Branch and Signal Processing Society Chapter, IEEE Gujarat Section. 
The workshop aimed to educate participants regarding different Machine Learning algorithms, explore their scope in research and to provide hands-on experience using contemporary Machine Learning tools. 
Dr. Vaishali Mungurwadi, Principal, SCET motivated and guided her best to organise the workshop.
Over 106 enthusiastic participations including UG and PG students, the workshop was a grand success. A guest lecture on “Introduction to Machine Learning” by Dr. Mukesh Zaveri, Associate Professor at Computer Engineering Department, S. V. National Institute of Technology was conducted. The workshop also featured a lecture on “Machine Learning approaches for Opinion Mining” by Dr. Mita Parikh, Professor at Information Technology Department, SCET. 
During the workshop the participants were also provided hands-on training sessions on the Machine Learning tools WEKA and SPMF respectively by Dr. Mita Parikh and Prof. Mukesh Patel from IT Department, SCET.
