Scholarship After 10th in India

Education is the key to realize dreams in this competitive world. But not every student is lucky enough to bear the expenses of their education. Further, the rising cost of education in India is making it more difficult for the students from underprivileged families to get admission to the courses of their choice.

For the students who belong to the weaker sections of the society and look for financial aid to continue their education, the scholarship is the boon. A scholarship is not just a financial support but also an encouragement for the talented students who have to suppress their dreams due to lack of money. There are a number of scholarships provided by the government, public institutes and private institutes. There are different scholarships like merit-based, need-based, student-specific, college-specific and career-specific.

Scholarships after Class 10

As per a UNESCO report published in 2017, around 47 million students drop out of school by the 10th standard. According to a report published by the New Delhi-based Institute for Policy Research Studies (PRS), enrollment in class 10 is 77 percent while it remains just 52 percent in class 11. One of the reasons in India behind high dropout rate after 10th is school fees.

To encourage students to continue their education to realize their dreams, the government, as well as private organizations, offer different scholarships after 12th and 10th. These organizations support students through different merit and means based scholarships after 10th. All the scholarships have their own eligibility criteria which students need to meet to avail the benefits.
