Season of Aura-Aurangabad Dance Concert Series launched on October 31, 2015 at Mahagami, MGM
The Cultural Tourism Initiative of Mahagami Gurukul: Aura-Aurangabad Dance series has been launched for its 3rd season on October 31, 2015 at 7.30 pm at Sharangadev Sadan, Mahagami Gurukul. Aura-Aurangabad was conceptualised by Parwati Dutta (Director, Mahagami Gurukul) and launched by Mahagami Gurukul in the year 2013.
The dance series aims to showcase legends and legacies of Aurangabad Heritage through Indian Dance Heritage. In last 2 tourist seasons 2013-14, 2014-15; total 51 concerts offering World-class Indian Dance were successfully held that catered to the cultural quest of tourists and guests visiting the city.
This season, around 25 to 30 unique dance concerts were held under Aura-Aurangabad with local as well as artists from various parts of the country and some from other countries - each concert retelling a legend frozen in time in our monuments. Concerts will be held every Thursday, Friday, Saturday at Mahagami from 7.30 pm. Tickets can be collected from local travel and tourism centres, from Mahagami and can be obtained from bookmyshow.
The series supported by CII and AH&RA needs support from all citizens, media organisations and heritage lovers to make this initiative a successful one so as to make Aurangabad a culturally vibrant and popular tourist city.
Curtain Raiser Program on October 31, 2015 presented Kathak performance by Mahagami Artists based on themes of Ghrushneshwar Temple, forms of Vishnu, the pristine beauty of Ajanta premises and "Sita-ki-Nahni" - a waterfall in Ellora caves. The program was conceptualised, choreographed and directed by Parwati Dutta.
