September CMAT 2015 Scrapped: New date for CMAT is January 2016

Official statement from AICTE has confirmed that the September CMAT exam will now be conducted in January CMAT 2016.

CMAT
All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) will now conduct the CMAT exam in January 2016. There were no reasons cited for postponing the CMAT September 2015 exam. The Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) is usually held twice a year – February & September. The CMAT scores are valid for admission to various MBA, PGDM & PGP courses across India. As of today, there has been no official announcement regarding changes in CMAT January 2016. 
 
There are about 3000 B-schools in India accepting CMAT scores. There are about 4 Lakh seats up on offer across these schools. For more information, visit the official website of CMAT. (www.aicte-cmat.in)
 

Eligibility criteria for CMAT:

  • Graduates in any discipline can apply
  • Final year students may also apply subject to submission of proof

CMAT eligibility for Management (PGDM,MBA and similar exams):

  • Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration with at least 50% (45% for reserved category) at the qualifying examination

CMAT eligibility for Management (PGCM):

  • Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration

CMAT eligibility for Management (Executive PGDM):

  • Any recognized Bachelors degree of minimum 3 years duration and a minimum of 5 years relevant managerial / supervisory experience
  • Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration with at least 50% (45% for reserved category) at the qualifying examination
 

 

Test Pattern for CMAT

The duration of CMAT exam until February 2015 was 180 minutes. And a negative marking of 1 mark for every incorrect answer.
