St. Stephen’s College aims to add Political Science honours degree to its curriculum for the academic session of 2016-17.
For the session 2016-17, St. Stephen’s College has announced to introduce Political Science Honours degree course to its already wide curriculum. As per an insider, the Executive and Academic Council approved the course for the last academic session. However, it could not be introduced that time as the admissions had already begun.
If the Delhi University confirms the induction of Political Science Hons in the curriculum of St. Stephen College, it would be the eighth honours course that college offers under Science and Humanities. The other seven include English, History, Economics, Mathematics, Sanskrit, Chemistry, and Philosophy.

Keeping the prevalent competition in mind, the college introduced 30-minute aptitude test last year, which is an addition to the cut-off list, which is based on the marks students obtained in 12th board exams, followed by a personal interview.
St. Stephen College is a minority institute under Delhi University and follows its own admission procedure, which is entirely different to other colleges under the DU. The college adheres to its pattern wherein it announces cutoffs stream wise even when the Delhi University has decided to eliminate it.
In addition to this, the college also announces separate cutoff lists for Christian, non-Christians, Christian tribal students, Dalits and students with disabilities. This pattern is not followed in any of the colleges under Delhi University.
