Symbiosis Distance Learning MBA - Since the beginning, Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL) is providing quality education to the students. Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL) offers Post Graduate Diploma, Diploma and Certificate programs in many sectors such as Business Management, International Business, Information Technology, Banking and Finance, etc. Any graduate can apply for these courses. Symbiosis Distance Learning MBA Admission

Symbiosis University is one of the most recommended institutes for distance MBA courses. It is one of the few large and most sought after distance learning institutes of India. People living in remote areas or doing a full-time job or any other reason due to which you don’t have time to pursue regular MBA course can apply for SCDL.  It has the best academic resources for teaching, evaluation, e-learning and self-learning. Eligibility Criteria of Symbiosis Distance Learning Programme

MBA aspirants must fulfil the eligibility criteria of SMU. If any candidate fails to do so, he/she will be disqualified at the time of document verification. Candidates must check whether they are fulfilling the SCDL eligibility norms in order to avoid rejection.

According to SCDL, following are the eligibility norms which candidates must follow:

  • Candidates must hold the bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised University.
  • International / SAARC Graduate from a recognised/accredited University /Institution can also apply for Symbiosis distance MBA.
  • Students who have appeared in their final year examination of Bachelor degree program/graduation degree course and are yet to pass the final year examination of Bachelor degree program can also apply, subject to successful completion of their Bachelor degree program/graduation within the time period specified by SCDL.
  • Diploma holders are not eligible for Post Graduate Programs, however, they can pursue Certificate programs where min 3 years of work experience is required at the supervisory level.

How to Apply for Symbiosis Distance MBA Programme?

Here we are providing you with the steps to apply for the distance learning programme of SMU:

Step 1:

Sign Up and Register yourself to the SCDL Apply Online Portal. Log on to SCDL Apply Online Portal with the login credentials emailed to you at your registered email id.

Step 2:

Purchase Application Form online from the SCDL Apply Online Portal. You need to complete the entire process of purchasing and filling the application form online and download the e-prospectus in soft copy on the desktop. Form can also be obtained through selected Axis Bank Branches and at selected SCDL Exam Centres.

Step 3:

Fill the application form online. Print the online filled Application Form. Attach this application form along with Academic Records, Work Experience Certificates, 2 passport size Photographs, Photo Identity Proof. For International and SAARC Students, an address in a foreign country is mandatory, along with address proof or copies of passport page showing visa of the foreign country.

Step 4:

After the admission, pay the program fee via Demand Draft (In favour of "The Director, SCDL Pune" payable at Pune only) or Online from your student login. Submit Full Fee or First Instalment Payment along with the Application Form. Program fees can be paid online through student login or via Demand Draft (DD), made in favour of 'The Director, SCDL Pune' payable at Pune by post/courier to SCDL Campus.

Students must mention their name, registration number, contact number, program enrolled and type of fees being remitted on the reverse side of the Demand Draft using ball-pen only.


SCDL will not be responsible for depositing of any DD which is not payable in Pune or cash sent by post/courier. Payments made via cheques and or any co-operative banks DD are not accepted.

Application Process for International and SAARC Admissions

  • Candidates will have to purchase the application form Online.
  • Fill all the required details in application form and Courier it to SCDL Pune Campus along with necessary documents.
  • Submit the completely filled application form along with attested copies (by Gazetted Officer or notarised by a Notary) of all academic documents, work experience documents (if any), name change document (if any), 2 passport size photographs and photo identity proof.
  • International and SAARC Students will have to provide an address in a foreign country, along with address proof or copies of passport page showing visa of the foreign country.
  • Candidates must submit Full Fee / First Instalment Payment along with the Application Form.


  • International Students will have to pay fees in Indian Rupees (INR) instead of US Dollars. The conversion rate of INR to USD will be Rs. 69 to a dollar.
  • International Students may pay the fee via Demand Draft or Cashier's Cheque to SCDL. The Demand Draft or Cashier's Cheque must be drawn in favour of "The Director, SCDL, Pune" Payable at Pune, India.

How can you decide your admission category?

Students will have to select applicable category as given below:

GENERAL CATEGORY: Candidates, who have completed their education in India and would like to take their examination from India and gain all services in India, will be considered in the General Category.

DEFENCE / PARAMILITARY / POLICE CATEGORY: Special fee concession is given to active Defence Personnel (Army, Navy and Air Force) and Paramilitary/ Police Personnel, as a token of appreciation and recognition of their services to our nation. Fee concession is not available to personnel in the civilian category, working in Defence establishments (Ministry of defence/ D.R.D.O. etc.) and Retired Defence/Paramilitary/Police Personnel and their dependents.

INTERNATIONAL CATEGORY: International students are those who hold the passport issued by a foreign country, including people of Indian origin (NRIs) who have acquired the nationality of a foreign country.

SAARC CATEGORY: The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is an organisation of South Asian nations of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Students, holding passport issued by a SAARC country (except India), including people of Indian origin (NRI’s) who have acquired the nationality of a SAARC country will be considered under SAARC category.

Students holding Indian passport but residing in SAARC/ International Country, at the time of applying for admission irrespective of the duration of their stay and having valid visas will also be considered under SAARC/ International country students.

How can you apply for admission cancellation?

Candidates who wish to cancel their SMU distance MBA admission will be required to submit an application for cancellation of admission. It is available in the student login on SCDL website. The application must be filled within 30 days from the date of admission for the enrolled program. The admission fee will be refunded after the deduction of 25 % administrative charges, on the paid amount.
