Aipan is a traditional art form that hails from the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, now almost on the verge of extinction!
To uplift the Kumaoni housewives and to introduce the famous Aipan products of Kumaoni Community, Enactus, a student organization of Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi initiated some entrepreneurial actions on July 11, 2015 at Dilli Haat, New Delhi.
The team has taken up the cause of reviving Aipan, which is a traditional art form that hails from the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, now almost on the verge of extinction.
The team with these Kumaoni housewives have exceptionally been working hard on the creation of Aipan products that would help acquaint people with this beautiful art and spread awareness about it.
In the last three months, the community of housewives has managed to create up to 50 products under the project. The products include bookmarks, diaries, shagun envelopes, greeting cards and canvas paintings, all adorned with elegant, hand-painted Aipan motifs and were well showcased on the day at Dilli Haat.
