The Department of Biotechnology at Thapar University, Patiala is organizing an INDO-UK Workshop on ‘Sustainable Polymer Applications’ on 29th and 30th September 2015
The INDO-UK workshop on Polymer Applications that is being organized at the Thapar University on 29th and 30th September aims to provide a platform to academicians, policy makers, researchers, industry persons and emerging entrepreneurs to discuss, exchange, present their ideas and research work on innovations and biopolymers and polymers for sustainable applications.
The participants will be able to establish possible solutions to technological problems, identify challenges in the value chains, contribute to addressable issues and create roadmaps for embarking in an exciting sphere of scientific and technological possibilities of polymer application.
The effective use of biopolymers can offer solutions for sustenance in agriculture, medical, health, water and environmental management to a great extent in the near future.
Also, the best presentations from scientists during the workshop and the selected posters/presentations will be considered for full length papers to be published in: The Journal of Biopolymers (Taylor & Francis).
Thapar University plays a key role in entrepreneurship, research and development. The department of Biotechnology is continuously working in the areas of sustainable development, climate change, agriculture, health, clean water, waste management, and renewable energy thus contributing to healthier and safer economy. Biopolymer is an area of intense research in the department, with significant contributions in capacity building and technological impacts at the international and national level.
