The magazine has released it most coveted list in the February edition, enlisting three young IIT Kanpur alumni who bagged a position in the Forbes list of ’30 under 30’. Here is their story!

Three IIT Kanpur Alumni Make it to Forbes list

Three alumni from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K), including a Lucknow boy, have bagged positions in the prestigious Forbes list of ’30 under 30’ for the year 2017. The magazine has released its list in the February edition.

Ankush Sachdeva, 23, from Ghaziabad, Bhanu Pratap Singh, 25, from Gorakhpur and Farid Ahsan, 24, from Lucknow are credited for developing one of its kind social networking applications, Sharechat, which simplifies access to digital content for non-English speakers.

The Forbes magazine enlists various young and talented professionals and their businesses that have emerged as game changers in different sectors.

These names have been named under three categories including social media, mobile tech and communication category.

Launched in the year 2015, ShareChat is one of its kind social network application for regional language consumers in India. This app is available in eight regional languages including Marathi, Hindi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Telugu, Bengali, Tamil and Punjabi.

“Our love for technology and products led us to build a series of internet products. After many initial failures and rejections, success finally came to our way in the form of ShareChat,” Shared Bhanu.

Today it boasts of five million downloads and 1.7 million shares on Google Play and the user base is growing at around 30 percent month to month,” the Forbes Notification read.

“Previously social network apps like Facebook, Twitter has been given this kind of appreciation, clearly showing the bright future prospects for Indian Startups,” trio said.
