Five students at IIT-Kanpur finish their courses before the stipulated time. Read further to know more.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has set a new record. Three students from the institute have completed their B.Tech in seven semesters instead of eight. Two other students have finished their dual degree in B.Tech + M.Tech in nine semesters instead of ten. The B.Tech course is a four-year course, whereas the dual degree B.Tech + M.Tech is a five-year course.
As per reports, these five students finished the entire course in a lesser time than scheduled. However, the degrees will be awarded to these students at the time of the convocation ceremony to be held next year.
The efforts of the three students from B.Tech were applauded by the senate of IIT-Kanpur on Friday. IIT-Kanpur's Director, Prof Indranil Manna chaired the meeting.
Also, according to reports, around 100 students scored 10 out of 10 in the Semester Performance Index (SPI Score). This has also happened for the first time in IIT-Kanpur.
IIT-Kanpur's professor-in-charge of administration, Prof Sudhir Mishra said that these five students have fulfilled the requirements of being awarded a B.Tech and B.Tech + M.Tech dual degree.
