TISSNET 2018 - Tata Institute of Social Science will conduct Tata Institute of Social Science National Entrance Test 2018 exam for admission to MA in HRM and LR. Interested candidates can check this page to know more about TISSNET. Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Entrance Test is an entrance exam which is conducted for admission to management programs. The exam is conducted by Tata institute of Social Sciences (TISS). This national level management admission examination is conducted for various post graduate courses in management. The examination is scheduled to be conducted in January, 2018. The time schedule of this examination will be 2:00PM to 3:40PM. The interested candidates can fill TISSNET application form in month of September 2017. Candidates, who will be able to clear TISSNET 2018, will be called for pre – interview test. The shortlisted candidates will then be called for a personal interview round. About the Exam: TISSNET 2018

The exam is conducted for admission to several MA programs which include MA in Labour Relations and MA in Human Resource Management (LR & HRM).  TISSNET 2018 is a computer based examination and is going to be conducted in all the big cities of the country. TISSNET 2018 application process will commence in September 2017. The candidates need to apply online in order to appear for this national entrance test. TISSNET 2018 will be all objective type examination. There will be three different sections in the exam namely – general awareness, maths & logical reasoning and English proficiency. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of result of TISSNET 2018, for pre – interview test and personal interview rounds. On the basis of TISSNET scores, candidates can apply for admission in all the five TISS campuses.

TISSNET Eligibility Criteria 2018

Candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria of TISSNET 2018 to ensure that they satisfy all the eligibility norms of TISSNET 2018 to avoid any problem in future. If any candidate fails to qualify the eligibility criteria, s/he will be disqualified from for TISSNET. Hence, it becomes very important to understand the eligibility guidelines of TISSNET 2018. Read the following points to understand the eligibility criteria of TISSNET 2018:

  • The candidate is required to have a bachelor’s degree which has been earned in duration of three years minimum.
  • The three years bachelor’s degree should be granted by a recognized institution/university.
  • The candidate is required to have passed all the semesters throughout the duration of three years bachelor program.
  • The bachelor’s degree duration should end by 10th June, 2018.

Candidates who are studying in the final year of their bachelor’s program but haven’t passed in all the courses including subsidiary, major or minor etc. of first and second year of their program in case the duration of the program is three years and first, second and third years in case the duration of the course is four years, on the day of applying for programs, will not be considered eligible for applying to any of the masters programs offered by Tata Institute of Social Sciences.

If any candidate has been declared failed in the final year examination of the bachelor’s degree, s/he will not be considered eligible for applying to the institute for admission in master’s program. The candidate is required to have passed the three years bachelor’s program on the day of application.

All the information given by the candidate for the purpose of eligibility qualification shall be considered the final and the same shall be accessed for the purpose of test, interview and selection processes. In case, if it is found that the information given by the candidate is false/fake/incorrect at any stage, s/he will be disqualified leading to cancellation of his/her candidature.

TISSNET 2018 Application Form

It is expected that TISSNET application form 2018 will be made available in the last week of September 2017. And the candidates will be able to fill the examination form till the last date which is in the first week of December 2017. The candidates are required to fill and submit TISSNET form online only. In order to submit the online TISSNET application form 2018, candidates are required to follow some steps which have been mentioned below:

There are two modes of submitting TISSNET application fee 2018. Candidates can opt for online mode of payment or they can use offline mode of payment. For offline mode, the candidates are required to submit TISSNET application fee via a demand draft. Candidates can use their debit or credit card for online payment. In case of offline mode, candidates can pay the cash at State Bank of India branches.


If any candidate lives in remote area where there is less or no internet connectivity, s/he should submit TISSNET application form in offline mode.

TISSNET Exam Centres 2018

TISSNET is a national level entrance examination. Tata Institute of Social Sciences will conduct this examination in all the big cities of the country to make sure that the candidates don’t have to face any problems in order to appear for TISSNET 2018. The exam was held in 39 cities of the country last year. More TISSNET exam centres can be added which depends on the number of students.

TISSNET 2018 Exam Pattern

TISSNET 2018 is an objective type question. This exam will contain 100 marks in total and the duration will be 100 minutes. The main highlights are listed below:

If we talk about the section wise distribution of the total question asked in the exam, the pattern will be as mentioned below:

  • General Awareness –                   40 Questions
  • Maths and Logical Reasoning –   30 Questions
  • English Proficiency –                    30 Questions

For every correct answer, the candidates will be given 1 mark. There is a provision of opting a scribe for visually impaired candidates. The scribe is required to be an undergraduate and they are required to carry their original IDs as proof. A person with 40% or more disability will be given 20 minutes extra.

For preparation of TISSNET general awareness section, the candidates are required to stay updated with news and current event, along with knowledge of topics mentioned above. A regular reading of newspapers and magazines will be a great help. For reading comprehension, the candidate needs to focus on his reading and grammar skills. Reading newspapers and magazines which are to be read for GA section will also help the candidates to have a knowledge of both English and general awareness.

TISSNET Admit Card 2018

As per the previous trends, the admit card of TISSNET 2018 is expected to be released in the last week of December 2017. TISSNET 2018 admit card will be made available online on the official website (www.tiss.edu). We will also provide a link once it is released officially. Candidates are required to login, download the admit card and they need to the print out of it. Candidates are required to carry it with them to TISSNET exam centre as if a candidates doesn’t carry it to the TISSNET test centre, he will not be allowed to sit in the exam. TISSNET 2018 admit will contain several important details such as personal details of the candidate, details related to the exam schedule and venue etc. While the candidate downloads TISSNET 2018 admit card online, s/he is required to ensure if all the details given on the admit card are correct or not.

TISSNET 2018 Result

Tata institute of Social Sciences is expected to announce the result in the second week of February 2018. TISSNET 2018 result will be released officially on an online portal on the website. The candidates are required to use their registered email ID and password in order to access the result. Tata Institute of Social Sciences will also release TISSNET scorecard which can be accessed via login. The result will be declared in the second week of February 2018. Once the result is declared, a merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance in the examination.  The result will be declared in the form of scorecards. There will be overall score of the candidate along with the qualifying performance mentioned on the scorecard.  

TISSNET Cutoff 2018

TISS will also release cutoff list of the candidates along with TISSNET result. The institute will call only those candidates who will meet out the cutoff criteria, for second round of TISSNET selection process. TISS aspirants can check the table below which has the cutoff of TISSNET 2017.

TISSNET Selection Procedure 2018

We can divide entire TISSNET selection process into two phases. The first phase will include TISSNET 2018 exam. The second phase will include the PIT and PI. Candidates for next rounds of selection will be shortlisted on the basis of TISSNET score 2018. While preparation TISSNET merit list 2018, the institute will consider the overall performance of the candidates. TISSNET merit list 2018 will be released as a PDF format. All the five campuses of Tata Institute of Social Sciences will have their own TISSNET merit list. The list will contain the name of the candidates and their names. These will the shortlisted candidates who are going to be called for next round of TISSNET admission process. There will be multiple wait lists released by TISS. The wait list TISSNET 2018 will contain the name of the candidates who have cleared the exam. They will be called for admission in case if there are seats vacant for the college. It won’t be in a PDF format, the candidates will have to download it, with the help of their registered login details.
