As per TISSNET selection process 2018, candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in TISSNET 2018. Read this article to know more on selection procedure of TISSNET.

TISSNET Selection Process 2018

TISSNET Selection Process 2018 – TISSNET 2018 is scheduled to be conducted in the first week of January 2018 by Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The result is expected to be released in the second week of February. Once the result is announced, the institute will hold pre – interview test and personal interview tests. We can divide the selection process of TISSNET into two stages. In the first stage, there is Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Entrance Examination 2018 which is an online computer based examination. The second stage of TISSNET selection procedure 2018 will include the pre – interview test and personal interview of the shortlisted candidates. The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of TISSNET performance. A final list will be prepared and the candidates, who names get listed, will be given admission in MA HRM / MA LR. In order to prepare the final list for selection process of TISSNET, the institute will consider three major assessment factors which are performance in TISSNET exam 2018, pre – interview test and persona interview. This article explains how TISSNET selection process 2018 is carried out.

Main Highlights of TISSNET Selection Process 2018

  • As discussed above, there are two stages in TISSNET selection process 2018. These two stages are TISSNET examination and pre – interview and personal interview.
  • Candidate will be shortlisted for pre – interview and personal interview tests of selection process on the basis of his/her performance in TISSNET exam 2018.
  • Evaluating the overall performance of the candidates, final list will be prepared. The weightage given to each element is mentioned in the table below:

Main Assessment Components of TISSNET Selection Process 2018

  • Once pre – interview test and personal interview process is completed, final merit list of TISSNET will be published. For final list preparation, the overall performance will be considered.
  • Performance in TISSNET exam will be given 40% weightage. Pre – interview test and personal interview each will be given 30% weightage.
  • A candidate’s preferences while filling up the application along with the overall performance will be considered for merit list.
  • If there are two candidates at the same score i.e. in case of tie, following process will be followed:
  1. If a candidate has more marks in personal interview, s/he will be given more weightage, considering eligible for admission.
  2. If both the candidates have scored same score in persona interview, then a candidate with higher score in pre – interview test will be considered.
  3. If the candidates have similar marks in both pre – interview test and personal interview, then the candidates with better score in TISSNET exam will be given admission.
  4. If all the scores are same, then the candidate who is older will be taken into consideration for admission.

Stages of TISSNET Selection Process 2018:

Stage 1: TISSNET Exam

  • The exam is scheduled to be conducted in first week of January 2018.
  • The exam will be of 100 marks, with 100 objective type questions.
  • The total duration of exam is 100 minutes.

Stage 2: Pre – Interview Test

  • TISSNET shortlisted candidates will be called for next round of pre – interview test.
  • The shortlisted candidates will be asked to pass through a written test or a group discussion.
  • The round will be conducted at TISS Mumbai.

Pre – Interview Test Eligibility

  • Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of TISSNET merit list.
  • The institute will decide TISSNET cutoff marks.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be offered invitation letters.
  • TISS Mumbai, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses will conduct the second rounds.

Stage 3: TISSNET Personal Interview 2018

  • Personal interview or PI is the final stage of TISSNET selection 2018.
  • The candidates who have been selected in pre – interview test will be sent for personal interview round.
  • The candidates need to get familiarized with the program which they have selected for person interview round.
  • Candidates, who have applied at more than one campus, are required to visit the respective campuses for pre – interview test and personal interview round.  

TISSNET Wait List 2018

The institute will also prepare wait list of TISSNET. The wait list will be prepared as per the points mentioned below:

  • Tata Institute of Social Sciences will publish the list of selected candidates based on the merit list. Along with it, the merit list will also be prepared.
  • The wait list will not contain the candidates who have got admission in their first choice of program selection.
  • The wait list will include the candidates who have got admission in their second choice of program selection.
  • A higher preference will be prevailed in case the candidates qualify in two programs.
  • In case a candidate is given higher preference once he takes admission in a program, s/he will be moved to high preference program.

Any sort of canvassing for getting admission will invite disqualification of any candidate. No relaxation will be given under any circumstances to the candidate; the rules specified by TISS, will be followed strictly. Candidates who are waiting for result of their qualifying examinations can also apply for admission. In that condition, they need to understand that the selection shall be considered only if they satisfy all the eligibility norms of TISSNET at admission time. TISSNET application form can’t be transferred from one course to another.
