5. Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M), Chennai

IIT Madras, founded in 1959, is a fully residential engineering institute situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It comprises of 550 faculty members, 8000 students and 1250 other staff. Apart from its academic excellence, IIT Madras is known for its scenic beauty and natural significance, due to its close proximity with the Guindy National Park.
