UPSC CDS (I) 2017 Application Process

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Combined Defence Services (I) exam twice every year. The CDS (I) exam will be conducted on February 5, 2017. The registrations will start from November 9, 2016, and the last date to apply is December 2, 2016.

Aspirants who wish to be selected as officers in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force can apply for the exam. The application forms will be made available on the official website of UPSC.

Candidates will have to enter their preference of service, i.e. Army, Air Force or Navy. Those applying for Army can choose IMA (Indian Military Academy) or OTA (Officers Training Academy). Those applying for Navy can choose INA (Indian Naval Academy) and those opting for Air Force can choose AFA (Air Force Academy).

After filling the form with all the details, the general category and OBC category candidates will have to pay an application fee of INR 200. Candidates belonging to the reserved categories and female candidates do not have to pay the application fee.
