Let’s take a bird's-eye view of UPSEE 2016 for the next crop of engineering aspirants


In fond remembrance of our beloved Former President, Late Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) changed its name to Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh.

The varsity conducts State Entrance Examination i.e. UPSEE which is required to take admission to over 750 Govt.-Aided institutions and Private Unaided institutions under Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University and some other universities across 60 cities in Uttar Pradesh.


What it takes to be eligible for UPSEE 2016?


Compulsory Subjects

Anyone of the following


Physics & Mathematics


Chemistry/ Bio-Technology /

Biology / Technical Vocational subject

B. Tech.(Bio-Technology)

Physics & Mathematics OR Biology

Chemistry/ Bio-Technology / Technical Vocational subject


You must have completed 10+2 with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST students). All the students who are eligible for B.Tech course are also eligible for B.Tech Agriculture Engineering.

You should have obtained qualifying examination from any institute located in Uttar Pradesh. If not, you must provide domicile certificate of your mother or father at the time of documents verification.


How to apply for UPSEE 2016?

You can get offline application form free of cost from any designated Helpdesk. List of the Helpdesks are available on the official website of the university.

After filling up the application form, you are required to submit the form along with two copies of your passport size colour photograph.

How much to pay?

For Male Candidates of General/ OBC Category

For SC/ST Category and All Female Candidate

Rs. 800/-

Rs. 400/


How to pay examination fee?

You can pay examination fee either through Bank Challan (Through SBI Collect) or via Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking.

Expectations from UPSEE 2016

UPSEE 2016 will be a paper mode (OMR Sheet) examination. There would be three papers with objective multiple type questions except Drawing Aptitude Test.

Choose exam venue at your ease!

UPSEE 2016 will be held in 75 cities across Uttar Pradesh. Moreover, there are 8 more cities namely Delhi, Bhopal, Ranchi, Dehradun, Patna, Jaipur, Chandigarh and Bhagalpur (Bihar) where the exam will be conducted. Students will be allowed to give three choices of examination cities. Change of exam centre/city shall not be entertained in any circumstances.


Counselling Procedure

After successfully completion of UPSEE 2016, you will be required to participate in the counselling procedure. The information for counselling process, schedule, documents verification etc will be notified on the official website of the university. You will be called for the document verification at the scheduled verification centre based on your State Rank (Combined General Rank).

Visit frequently for counselling letter as the letter will not be sent to you by post.


Interesting Fact: UPSEE is one of the fewest exams admitting students to more than 40 streams of B.Tech.
