A Jungle Book Based Theme Powers SIBM Bangalore To A Successful Event Utthaan: Little Feet, Big Strides

The Social Responsibility Committee of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Bangalore organized Utthaan- Little Feet, Big Strides Event on 30th August 2015. It was a huge success with the jungle book theme.

The aim of this event was to encourage students from six orphanages in Bangalore and to provide them with a day full of fun and entertainment, leading to a hopeful positive future for each one of them. The sponsors of the event were Mortiz (food partners), OODOO Communications (Gift partners).


The campus was lit up by children from Sada Shreya Charitable Trust (Electronic City, Phase II), Makkala Jivo Daya (Madivala), Gasper, Anatha Shishu Nivasa (Bull Temple Road), Shanti Niketan and Belaku Shishu Nivasa. Around 122 children participated in the event, enjoying the challenges various games proposed, organized by the institute.

The guests for the event included Rotarians Sameer Hariaini, Subramaniam and Sanjay Srivastava.

Main highlights of the event were:

  • Performance by Jhankaar, The dance club of SIBM Bengaluru
  • Talent show where Raghava from Shantiniketan gave a graceful recital of Bharatnatyam.
  • Drawing competition with children showcasing their creative instincts
  • Educational videos played and traffic rules were taught
  • Endless games like twisters, memory flip, balloon phuss and bucket sponge, to name a few
  • Goodie bags were distributed amongst the children with story books to inspire them for a bright future

The event was thoroughly enjoyed with children seizing each moment with enthusiasm. Mr. Srinivas of Belaku Shishu Nivasa was pleased and said “The children got a place to showcase their talents”

The event enlightened with the message that how sharing a little happiness of our life can bring a lot of happiness in the lives of small blossoms. It brought smiles to the faces of these children which was the ultimate satisfaction for all.
