WBJEE 2018- The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has released the important details of WBJEE 2018 Examination, on 18 November 2017. WBJEE 2018 will be conducted on April 22, 2018, in offline mode. The online registration for the examination will be commenced on 19 December 2017. The examination board released all important dates recently through an official notification. Only the candidates who meet WBJEE 2018 eligibility criteria will get admit cards to appear for the exam. The WBJEEB conducts WBJEE once in a year for admission to the undergraduate level engineering courses in 104 participating colleges in the state of West Bengal. WBJEE 2018 is a state level entrance exam for which aspirants are allowed to file their candidature via online application and get admission through e-Counselling for the academic session 2018- 19. This year, a total of 36,000 seats are expected to be filled in undergraduate engineering, pharmacy and architecture courses in Universities, Self-financed Institutes and Government Colleges in West Bengal. WBJEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria 

There are some pre-defined conditions candidates need to meet to be eligible to apply for WBJEE 2018 exam.  Candidates must check eligibility criteria before filling the application form. Following are the conditions candidates need to satisfy to meet WBJEE eligibility criteria:

At first, applicants need to have residency of West Bengal state for at least 10 years to apply for WBJEE 2018 exam and high school qualification from CBSE with a minimum 45% marks. In addition to this, candidates must have had Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as the core subjects in high school qualification i.e. class 12. They should have also got at least 30% marks in English.

Applicants should not be less than 17 years old when applying for WBJEE 2018, whereas Mining Engineering applicants should not be below 25 years of age.

WBJEE 2018 Application Form

WBJEE application forms will be available online from 19 December 2017. Candidates who satisfy WBJEE eligibility criteria should only fill the application form till 24 January 2018. In the application form, candidates will have to provide their personal, academic and other details along with the latest photograph and scanned copy of the signature. Though candidates will get a chance to make the correction in their application, they should be extra careful while filling the form as a mistake can lead to rejection of WBJEE application form.

How to Download WBJEE 2018 Application Form

  • Visit the official website of WBJEE 2018
  • Register on the website using details like name and course application
  • Click on ‘Fill Application’ to get the online application form of WBJEE 2018
  • Fill in the personal details including name, address, date of birth etc.
  • Upload the scanned copies of documents including passport size photograph, signature with black or blue ballpoint pen and thumb impression
  • Pay the WBJEE application fees via online payment and attach the payment receipt
  • Submit the form along with the enclosures
  • After submitting the form candidates need to take a printout for future references

Aspirants should make sure that WBJEE application can be filled up in online mode only on the official website of the exam and there will be no physical sale of application forms.

WBJEE Application Fee 2018

The application process for WBJEE 2018 will complete only after payment of the application fee. WBJEE 2018 application fee differs with the course candidates apply for. Candidates need to pay the application fee in the online or offline mode for WBJEE 2018 when filling the application form.

Bank service charges are applicable only on the offline fee. To pay fee offline candidates need to download an E-challan of Allahabad Bank and pay the fee by visiting any of Allahabad Bank’s branches.

WBJEE Application Form Correction 2018

A WBJEE application form correction window will be activated where candidates will be given an opportunity to correct mistakes in their form. The window will be made available for removing the errors from 26 January 2018 to 28 January 2018. In WBJEE 2018 application form correction process, candidates will be allowed to make the correction in their Date of birth, gender, and category and tuition fee waiver status. Candidates will require their login details including registration number and password to access their account on the official website of WBJEE.

WBJEE 2018 Admit Card

WBJEE 2018 conducting body will be releasing WBJEE admit card on 10 April 2018. Candidates will not get any hard copy of the admit card at their postal address. They need to visit the official website of wbjeeb.in to download the admit card. It will contain candidate’s name, address, date of birth, photograph, examination centre, exam schedule etc. Candidates must check all the details on WBJEE admit card before downloading it. In case of any discrepancy, they should immediately contact the WBJEE Board.

It is obligatory to carry the hall ticket to the examination center, failing which candidates will be prohibited from appearing in the examination.

Steps to download WBJEE Admit Card 2018

  • Visit the official website of WBJEE Board
  • Click on ‘WBJEE Admit Card 2018’ tab
  • Enter the registration/ application number and password in the respective places
  • Click on submit button
  • WBJEE admit card 2018 will be displayed on screen for downloading
  • Take the printout of the admit card for future reference

WBJEE 2018 E xam Pattern

The final details of WBJEE exam pattern will be available only after the release of WBJEE 2018 information brochure by the examination body. Until then, candidates can consider WBJEE exam pattern of the previous year and start their exam preparation.   • WBJEE 2018 will be conducted in two slots on the same day. The first slot will have 75 questions from Mathematics while in the second slot there will be 100 questions from Physics and Chemistry.
  • The question paper will contain 155 objective type questions in three categories. The question paper will be asked in OMR pattern.
  • Biology/ Mathematics exam paper will be of 100 marks in total, whereas WBJEE Chemistry and Physics test papers will be of 50 marks each.
  • WBJEE exam pattern also supports negative marking for Category I and Category II, which is done at the rate of 25% of full marks for each wrong answer. Applicants are advised to practice WBJEE previous test papers for fine preparations.
  • Candidates are recommended to carry blue and black ballpoint pen with them. On the WBJEE OMR sheet, the applicants will be allowed to mark their answers by using only blue or black ballpoint pen.
  • The duration of WBJEE examination will be three-hour and will be conducted in English Medium.

WBJEE 2018 Result

WBJEE result will be released online on 05 June 2018. Candidates will be allowed to check their result and download WBJEE 2018 scorecards once the result link is active. WBJEE scorecard contains the total score, rank and component scores of the candidates. Candidates will need their login credentials including application number and password to check and download WBJEE result 2018.

  • Login using registration no. and password
  • Click on ‘WBJEE Results 2018’
  • WBJEE result will appear on the screen
  • Take a printout of the result file for the future references

Candidates should keep in mind that only the ones who will qualify WBJEE 2018 exam, to be conducted in on April 22, 2018, will be allowed to check the results.

Also as soon as the result will be out, aspirants are recommended to attend the WBJEE counselling that will take place in July 2018, to get admission on the basis of WBJEE merit list 2018 and WBJEE cut-off 2018.

Notably, admissions to all the courses will be subject to marks candidates have scored in the exam and their eligibility for the same.

WBJEE 2018 Counselling

Candidates, who will score a minimum of qualifying marks in WBJEE exam, will be called to take part in the counselling process. WBJEE counselling schedule will also be published on the official website of the exam conducting authority. Seats will be allotted on the basis of various factors like candidates’ rank, choices filled and availability of seats in colleges.

Candidates who cleared WBJEE test had to register themselves online to participate in WBJEE counselling for admission in B.Tech/ B.E programmes offered by colleges that accept WBJEE scores. Candidates must attach all the important documents mentioned in the application form and photo identification at the time of WBJEE 2018 counselling.

The detailed information regarding admissions to concerned colleges will be provided to students through email. It should be noted that being in the merit list does not necessarily make a candidate eligible for admission to any concerned University / College. To get admission in the college of their choice, candidates also need to meet WBJEE counselling eligibility criteria. Admission of the candidates who don’t meet eligibility criteria will be cancelled immediately.
