University College of Engineering (UCE) of Osmania University has conducted a workshop on game development on February 27, 2016 (Saturday). The programme was held at Computer Science Department of Osmania University’s University College of Engineering.
This workshop was organised as a part of technical fest.
The speaker, Mr. Abdul Rahman was the winner of Microsoft imagines cup taught the students the basics of gaming and also got hands on practise making few games like flappy bird, pongo and many more. Not only were the students introduced to basics and development but also the economic status that a career in gaming was brought to them.
It was really a fun workshop; the students learnt many new things. Students from other colleges in the city attended it too. Around 80 students attended it and everyone got a participation certificate, as well as there was a competition to create a game and had presented it on the fest day that is on March 4, 2016 and March 5, 2016. The best one was awarded by the speaker Mr. Abdul Rahman.
The University College of Engineering (UCE) has the distinction of being the oldest and the biggest among the Engineering Colleges of the State of Andhra Pradesh. Eleven years after the formation of Osmania University, it was the 6th Engineering College to be established in the whole of British India. Today it is the biggest among the campus colleges of Osmania University.
