Mahadevan B Iyer, 3rd year student from School of Biosciences, Apeejay Stya University, a student Entrepreneur working on sustainable development was part of the event!
A worldwide meeting in over 80 countries of the world was organized by United Nations in partnership with World Wide Views, Teknologi Radet (A Danish Company) and The French Embassy under UNFCCC or the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
In India it was organized at India Habitat Centre and was hosted and planned by their Indian Partner the Energy & Resources Institute (TERI). The theme of the day long discussion was to collect World Wide Views on Climate and Energy so as to come to a consensus and so that the civilians around the globe get to participate and make a say in the decision making of UN for the policies to be framed at the 2015 Convention of Parties – 21 to be held in Paris, France, later in December, 2015.
The participation consisted of over a 100 people from all over India, who belonged to different regions, different cultures, different religions, different age groups, different walks of life and different industrial sectors. Mahadevan B Iyer, 3rd year student from School of Biosciences, Apeejay Stya University who also is a student Entrepreneur working on sustainable development was part of the event.
A 6 hour long event, specifically dedicated to discuss and motivate the civilians to suggest and develop possible solutions that can be implemented in India to counter the problem of Green House Gas Emissions, Global Warming and to instate a sustainable ecosystem, right from the grass root levels to the tip of the social, economic, religious, regional and cultural pyramid of the country’s population. The event was presided over by His Excellency the French Ambassador to India Mr. Francois Richier, Ating Director of TERI Dr. Leena Srivastava and Mr. N. C. Desai from the PMO team.
