XAT Selection Procedure 2018 – Apart from XLRI and 11 XAMI member Institutes, over 100 colleges accept the score of XAT for MBA/PGDM admission. The selection norms of all these colleges differ from one another but generally includes preparing of cutoff based on XAT result, then shortlisting candidates on the basis of cutoff and holding Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) for all the shortlisted candidates. The interview panel the judge the candidates and based on their overall performance they are granted final admission. As per XAT 2018 selection procedure, after announcing the result of XAT, XLRI announces the cutoff for each of the offered courses and asks the candidates to submit their profile and a video depicting the same. On submission of these, the candidates are further asked to book their interview slots. 

XLRI conducted XAT 2018 on 7 January in online mode for the first time. Due to some technical issues, the test could not be conducted in a proper manner at a few test centres, which lead to reconduct of exam on 3 February for all such candidates who could not give the test on earlier date. On February 12, the result of XAT exam was announced. The candidates can check their result from the link given below. All the colleges accepting XAT scores will announce their cutoff now as the result has been declared. Candidates who will clear the minimum XAT 2018 cutoff will be called for further XLRI selection process.

XAT Selection Procedure 2018

According to XLRI selection procedure 2018, all the participating colleges will shortlist the candidates on the basis of result for further admission procedure. The selection procedure of XAT 2018 will consist of three stages. The first round will include the registration. In the second round, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the result. And finally, they will be called for group discussion, personal interview and essay writing. At the end, final merit list will be prepared and seats will be offered to the candidates.

XAT Selection Procedure 2018- Stage 1

In the first stage of XLRI selection process, candidates need to complete the XAT registration procedure and appear for the exam. XAT 2018 application procedure started on August 16 and ended on November 30. Interested candidates must apply within the specified timeline. Till last year, XAT was an offline exam but this year it was conducted in online mode. Duration of exam was 3 hours and 30 minutes. Both objective and subjective kind of questions were asked in XAT 2018. 

XAT 2018 Selection Procedure – Stage 2

According to their performance in the XAT exam, candidates will be selected for the further admission procedure. After the announcement of the result, all the institutes will publish their cutoff scores. Candidates meeting the minimum cutoff criteria will be shortlisted to appear for pre-admission rounds. It will be comprised of Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) and essay writing. XAT selection rounds may differ from college to college. Some of the institutes may conduct group activity or case discussion.

XAT is one of the highly competitive exams as a large number of candidates appear for the exam. That is why very less number of candidates gets selected for the further admission rounds.

XAT Selection Procedure 2018 – Stage 3

In the third stage of XLRI selection procedure, candidate’s performance in the entire selection process (Stage 1 & 2) will be evaluated. Along with the written exam and GD/PI & WAT rounds, candidate’s academic profile and work experience will also be considered. The final list of selected candidates will be published and shortlisted candidates will be offered the seats by theses participating institutes.

Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria of XAT 2018. As per it’s eligibility norms, applicants must have done graduation of minimum three years from any recognized university or institute in any disciple. There is no minimum percentage in graduation required for the admission. Final year students of bachelor’s degree can also apply for the XAT 2018. They must complete their graduation by June 10, 2018.
