Xavier School of Management, XLRI Jamshedpur is going to organize an International Meet for the first time. The international meet is going to be organized to discuss the use and advantage of assessment centre method to be introduced in the selection and promotion of the candidates.
XLRI to Host Two Days International Meet for First Time
As per the reports coming in, Centre for Human Resource Development (HRD) of premiere B – schools will arrange the conference for two day i.e. December 9 and December 10. It will have two segments. The first segment will be an ‘in – person’ event which is to be organized for the Asian participants. In the second segment, there is going to be a ‘virtual’ session for those who are abroad, stated by XLRI on Tuesday in Kolkata. Many international speakers will have online sessions.
According to the reports, Professor RK Premarajan, the HRD centre head is reported to chair the conference whereas Professor Emeritus of Colorado State University George Thornton III will deliver views on benefits of assessment along with its diagnostic and development centre methods. Professor Premarajan stated about the agenda that all over the world, both private and public sector organizations are using assessment centre method in selection, promotions and actual skill development areas.
In his words,
“In a changing corporate world, the main goal of the human resource management is to achieve competitive advantage by strategic allocation of qualified personnel… It is therefore imperative for organizations to search for more accurate forms of assessing talent and supporting their development.”
Professor Premarajan further added in his statement,
“It is therefore increasingly imperative for organizations to search for more accurate forms of assessing talent and supporting their development. Assessment Centers, Diagnostic Centers and Developmental Assessment Centers are excellent ways applied in organizations to support these needs.”
There will be several Indian researchers present at the conference who will share their study experiences and results with others.
