YMCAUST Hosts Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Support of ‘My Clean India’ Initiative

YMCA University of Science and Technology hosted a ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ on September 30, 2016.

Promoting the initiative ‘My Clean India’ introduced by Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi, YMCA University of Science and Technology hosted a ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ on September 30, 2016. 
 
 
 
 
Driven by a noble cause, the drive kick-started at 2 p.m. Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Dinesh Kumar interacted with the students and potent them to the importance of cleanliness in their lives and the consequences they can face by disobeying the act. It was followed by a speech on hygiene by Dr. Pardeep Dimbri, director cultural and youth affairs. He praised students of YMCA for maintaining a healthy and clean environment in college and expecting the same in future. He asked all the students to pledge to keep their surrounding clean and plant more trees.
 
 
Then different portions including surrounding areas of the college were given to all clubs, which they were supposed to clean. Students picked their bags and gloves with great enthusiasm and cleaned the given areas. While they were seen in every corner of the college holding the bags with smile on their faces, enjoying the noble theme, the teachers were seen motivating them with their best guidance. The collected waste was put in to the bins, which was cleaned by sweepers afterwhile.
 
The Vice Chancellor of the university praised the students and the teachers for this initiative!
