Students, teachers enthusiastically participated in the yoga sessions conducted during the yoga day on June 21, 2015!
By honouring Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative towards celebration of Yoga Day on June 21, 2015, the nation has come together and celebrated the day with earnest zeal.
Most of the DU colleges organized camp and yoga activities. “A Mass Yoga Demonstration” programme was organized by Delhi University on Yoga Day.
Gandhi Bhawan and School of Open Learning was also enthusiastically participated in the event. Following the same Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College had also participated. Yoga session includes hundreds of people and benefits of yoga were being discussed.
Apart from DU Colleges, Delhi School of Professional Studies & Research, New Delhi and Jagan Institute of Management Studies also celebrated the day with best enthusiasm.
Yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice having its origin over 6000 years ago in India, aims to integrate the body and the mind. The declaration of this day came after the call for the adoption of 21 June as International Day of Yoga by PM Narendra Modi during his address to UN General Assembly on September 27, 2014.
This is the first time that yoga day will be celebrated in 192 countries. The event is expected to be a remarkable one and is trending the social media too.
