Dear student,

The minimum eligibility to enter in Defence Sector is to pass graduation with PCM or PCB. So first you have to complete your Bachelor’s degree to get into the defence sector.

After completing you graduation, you can apply for different posts in Defence Services. Union Public Service Commission is the central organisations conducts competitive exams for government services under arrangements with the Ministry of Defence for entry to certain Defence Services, through the National Defence Academy, Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and the Officers Training Academy. Civil Services Examination, Combined Defence Services Examination, National Defence Academy Examination and Naval Academy Examination are the examinations conducted by the UPSC.

You can opt for merchant navy after your 10+2. The Merchant Navy is a non-combatant commercial fleet, which deals with transporting cargo and occasionally, passengers, by sea. There are many courses in Merchant Navy offered by various marine academies such as B.Sc. Nautical Science, Higher National Diploma (HND) in Nautical Science, Pre Sea Training for Deck Cadets, etc.
